Hero is MP with A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Villain is the EP guy, and he just sat down. EP limps, Hero raises, MP Donk calls, Someone else calls, BB calls. Flop (10 SB): K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] BB checks, EP checks, Hero bets, Donk calls, Someone else folds, BB folds, EP calls. Turn (6.5 BB): Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] EP checks, Hero bets, Donk calls, EP calls River (9.5 BB): A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] EP checks, Hero...?

I agree with Crunchy. If I'm willing to throw one bet out there, I might as well check-call. If you get raised, you pretty much know you are beat, but you aren't paying off to make sure. If you check, he might make a bluff at the pot and you can call and win.
If you are absolutely folding to a check raise, why bet?

The turn and river cards are 2 of the worst that could've fallen off the top of the deck. Checking allows you to get to showdown for 0-1BBs and allows you to make an easy fold and lose 0BBs if it's 2BBs back to you.

I would bet, but is folding really that easy?
I dunno... getting 12.5-1 I might expect to see AT or AQ every once in a while. Why isn't it close?

I don't think Hero is getting two calls on the river from worse hands with this board. He's losing at least 1BB when he's behind and gets check-raised or called down. He's only winning 1BB (rarely 2BBs and rarely 0BBs) when he bet's the river with a winner. I don't see how he's really gaining anything by betting here.
