Re: Going to track to see if I am truly \"unlucky\"

When I read the title of this post I thought it meant you were going to the dog track to see if you were "unlucky". After reading the post I think betting on some dogs at the dog track would be just...

Re: Holding some back

I think this is -EV. Just push it allin. If you are ahead you get max value. If you are behind, a thinking opponent will raise you allin anyway.

What should I do with my Step 1 freerolls?

I have a handful of Step 1 freerolls($12 STT on Party) and have no time/desire to play them right for 40-50 minutes. Last night I entered one and just went allin on every hand. I was inspired by a...

Re: Interesting QQ hand early in $109

Michael C. was right on. He had AK of hearts I called his allin a blank hit the river and my hand was good. I certainly see the logic of pushing preflop but that is just not my style. I am more...

Re: Fun story from a home game this weekend

First off, how dare you call his flop and turn min. bets when you were the statistical favorite over his TPTK. Amateur! Has to be pocket tens right? He flopped the full boat and refused to notice...

Re: 200 from 200 then 200 at 200

Why not just steadily move up the levels from $33-$55-$109-$215 and do a bit of advance scouting for the next level up. You will learn while playing and figure out the playing styles. I just don't...

Re: New Year\'s Resolutions/Goals for 2005 SNG

What is the plan for playing at different levels? Just to move up when you feel comfortable? What level are you at now and how many tournies have you played? I would suggest staying at your...

Re: Anyone play this differently?

I would stop 'n go. I look for every opportunity to force an opponent to a decision.

Re: A bit too frisky with 88 on the bubble?

This is a tricky situation. If you go for the stop 'n go it is more likely the BB calls because of the pot odds. I think I push preflop in order to knock out the BB and get heads up with the min....

Re: Narrowing the reverse gap: the early-out phenomenon

So my overall thoughts on this type of situation is that it is not that different than a normal SNG with the exception that players might go into survival mode sooner. If you can identify which...

Re: Narrowing the reverse gap: the early-out phenomenon

[ QUOTE ]
When I'm in a SNG where 2-3 players exit early, I try to take advantage of the big stacks.

[/ QUOTE ]
I think this is dangerous advice if the player doubled up with a...

Re: Harrah\'s Freeroll

If you are a good player, you should definitely not play in this event. Just kidding, I will be playing in the Jan 29th freeroll - and played in 1 at the Rio last year. All in all a good deal,...

Re: Bubble small pair situation. How would you act?

This would be a perfect situation for a stop and go, but obviously that's not an option. How about a call and evaluate all options post-flop. Best case scenario he checks the flop to you and you...

Re: SNG Table Makeup: Jackals vs. Rocks

This is a very good question. If you find yourself in a very tight game I think stealing with position can be very profitable. Try open-raising with speculative hands(K10s, QJs, etc.) in late...
