A bit too frisky with 88 on the bubble?
We've only been 4-handed for a few hands, but this is button's 2nd 4-handed minraise in a row.
I think it's close. ***** Hand History for Game 1344765399 ***** NL Hold'em $20 Buy-in + $2 Entry Fee Trny:8137329 Level:6 Blinds(150/300) - Friday, December 24, 23:57:04 EDT 2004 Table Table 14460 (Real Money) Seat 1 is the button Total number of players : 4 Seat 2: mrzarembsky ( $1430 ) ::SB, 1280 AFTER POSTING:: Seat 6: ajyeager ( $1525 ) :::::::BB, 1225 AFTER POSTING:: Seat 1: AggieBQ ( $2990 ) Seat 7: Payed ( $2055 ) Trny:8137329 Level:6 Blinds(150/300) ** Dealing down cards ** Dealt to mrzarembsky [ 8s 8d ] Payed folds. Re: A bit too frisky with 88 on the bubble?
This situatuon seems to come up so often in my SNGs as well so I would like to hear others opinions. Personally with 88 I push since you have a big edge over quite a few hands button is min raising here. The only thing is you have NO FE assuming the button is a competent player and wont fold getting those kind of odds. If you were a slightly larger stack i think its an easy fold, but the way the positions are now i say call.

[ QUOTE ]
Maybe Stop N Go? [/ QUOTE ] If I had been in the big blind, I would have definitely gone for a StopNGo. But here, I didn't like flat-calling because the BB would be getting such good odds to see a flop. I didn't relish the thought of perhaps having to push into two players. |

Re: A bit too frisky with 88 on the bubble?
This is a tricky situation. If you go for the stop 'n go it is more likely the BB calls because of the pot odds. I think I push preflop in order to knock out the BB and get heads up with the min. raiser. I think it is more important to isolate against the min. raise than putting him to a test after the flop.
