Re: Poker pro w/ most business savvy

Im suprised no one is really talking about Chris Ferguson. It seems like he is in almost every poker commercial or poker spot on tv. How many times has he had a segment throwing cards at produce,...

Re: 10 Table NL 2000 on Party to reduce variance

[ QUOTE ]

Variance per time period(which the OP is referring to)-- DOES depend on how many hands you play at once. In fact, it INCREASES with the amount of hands you play at once. Should be...

Re: A hand viewed from the sidelines.

Ah, good ol' Spiker..

I really wish the OP would have at the VERY least changed the screennames. I spend a lot of time and energy finding out who these people are only to routinely see their...

Re: Party 10/20: trips facing ridiculous overbet

[ QUOTE ]
just wondering, if hero had AJ, does he call.

[/ QUOTE ]

At the time I wasn't calling with anything worse than 44.

In any other game I wouldn't even be asking this question,...

Re: Party 10/20: trips facing ridiculous overbet

KJs is a hand were I don't really have a default plan preflop-- sometimes I open limp, sometimes I raise. It all depends.

As for the flop decision, at first I felt exactly the same as you, which...

Party 10/20: trips facing ridiculous overbet

A little background first: a couple donks at the table had made it a habit of betting the $20 minimum into large fields on the flop and turn with ussually fairly weak hands. By this point a lot of...

Re: Is this ordinary for the party 10/20 game?

I was the person with JJ in this hand, and although I should have been much more worried about the SB's cold call than I was, it was fairly clear both the original bettor and the guy who made it 1000...

Re: 20-40 77 Overpair on river

easy call. Almost every time CO will be calling with A high and who knows what MP3 is betting with, but you are getting 11:1 which says you can beat it.

Re: 5/10NL vs. known professional

Your post makes little sense. Clarify the action on each street. Are there three players on the river?

Re: Free 15/30 PokerTracker Database 300K hands

I have the database loaded into poker tracker, but I am wondering how do I get GT+ to display data from multiple databases? I open the table Im sitting at, and it only displays the data I have...

Re: Is this reraise with KK just awful?

It is too small, as you are going to be playing the hand out of position. This really sucks, especially against two people. Make it like 250 and see what happens.

Re: AK out of position hand

Check/call the river. The only hand he would call a bet with here you can beat is a worse A, which is fairly unlikely. He probably would have come in for a raise with AQ and would have to be pretty...

Re: 30/60 KJs hand

Check raising the flop is better. Any A,Q,T,9, or 7 could fill someone's inside straight draw which they would be getting odds to call with on the flop (and you especially have to worry about an A...

Re: Overcall or fold the river...?

Fold, SB's call of the river bet means he most likely has either a T or a weak jack; probably a T. It seems he suspected a free card play from the button and called the flop with an ok T also hoping...

Re: lets try another fold

Seems good, checking behind on this river without a reliable tell (and I dont think the timing thing is in any way reliable) is almost as bad as calling the check-raise.

Re: 5/10 draw against a rock

Lawrence, I mentioned in my original post that he would not expect such a semi-bluff from me, as I had been playing my draws weakly up until that point for other reasons. Also, I suppose it might...

Re: 5/10 draw against a rock

Jason, to answer your questions: he would never bet with JJ in this spot; he is a real rock. The fact that he bet the flop with so many people in the hand gives away his strength, as he would check...

Re: 5/10 AA hand

After so many callers there is no point in slow-playing preflop, you have to raise.

5/10 draw against a rock

5/10 NL, 5 handed. The villian in this hand is weak tight and can be moved off some suprisingly strong hands (he sometimes shows his "fantastic laydowns"), but still has a general awareness of the...

Re: it\'s so much easier to just make one decision

Joe, I'm still slightly confused. If you were playing heads up then of course, but at a full table where you know the maniac is going to 3-bet then what good does raising do? Limp-reraising creates...

Re: it\'s so much easier to just make one decision

Mike, how was the game going such that raising UTG with ATs was "absolutely correct?" I'm not critizing the play, I'm just wondering under what table conditions raising there would be positive ev. ...
