Default it\'s so much easier to just make one decision

20-40 at commerce. i have AsTs and openraise utg. this was absolutely correct given the way the game was going youll just have to take my word on it, it's not what the post is about. then this guy in mp 3 bets. he's been raising every hand including hands like T6o, 42s, etc, etc. basically any two cards and he's raising, 3 betting or capping. he's tilted and sad and plays horribly and he's ready to go home it's late. all that is right there plain to see. so he 3 bets and it's folded back around to me. he has $190 left. i 4 bet, he 5 bets, and i say you want to go all in right? and he nods in the affirmative. so we go all in.

flame away oh clueless ones.

exactly what I would have done. I wish there were as many of these types on the east coast as in LA.

"and he nods in the affirmative."

Accentuate the affimative, eliminate the negative, and don't mess with Mr. in-between.

I like this one a lot. I don't see how anyone could flame you for this.

Me neither, but I liked the AQo hand, so I can't be expected to dislike this one.

What does it matter if it's preflop, on the flop... he's not getting to the river which chips infront of him.

he's not a postflop maniac though. so it's very likely that he can get away from putting all his chips in on a lot of boards when he's beat. it doesnt make sense but it's fairly common. so getting him to go all in preflop is by far the most advantageous. even if he has some really wacky cruddy hand when you say "you want to go all in right?" it's like a dare to them so they do it with some really hopelessly beat hands.

Mike, how was the game going such that raising UTG with ATs was "absolutely correct?" I'm not critizing the play, I'm just wondering under what table conditions raising there would be positive ev. Also, just out of curiosity, what did he end up having?

Why even make excuses for the ATs? ATs, raise UTG, yes, there are plenty of times for it. Short-stacked maniac, all day, every day to get him in w/ATs. Standard on all decisions.
