Small Blind Hand on the Bubble

Here's a hand from the Pstars 10+1 rebuy. I'm in 54th out of 66 remaining with the top 63 making the money. I don't mind bubbling out of the money to increase my chance of making the final table as...

Re: 1st Break

Out in 547th. Down to 2,500 chips, I moved in one off the button with A8. Got called from the BB by 66 and got no help.

Here's the hand that hurt most. Blinds 100/200, I have 5,360 in chips and...

Re: 1st Break

Chips starting to dwindle, I got lucky when ace a fell on the river after I moved in with AJ only to get called by KK.

Up to 6,100 chips and moved to table 137.

Re: 1st Break

I'm in on Table 16. T5,000 at the first break. Doubled up early with AA. Pissed away 1,000 chips just before the break with an unimproved AK.

Re: VIP sports any good?

I've had an account with them for several years and have never had any problems with them, including several cashouts.

I first signed up back when you could play $5 Full Pay Deuces Wild through...

Re: house fees

I'd be happy to pay lower fees across the board, but I think it makes more sense to charge $5+0.50 and $200+15 than it would to charge $5+7 and $200+7

Re: Playing AA mid-tourney PStars $10 re-buy

I don't see any problem with the way you played it. There really aren't any hands you should be worried about drawing out on you. Since you have the ace of clubs, it's unlikely he has a flush draw....

Re: Poker Tracker Thought

Rather than keeping separate databases for each stage of the tournaments, you can filter the results based on the blind levels in the preferences tab in the game time window. That way you have...

Re: Hypothetical Final Table Situation - Two Players

I go all-in. I've got better than a 30% chance of having him dominated. He's got less than a 2% chance of having me dominated. The rest of the time, it's a coin flip.

Tough to find a better...

Re: AQo from Stars Re-buy last night

I have no problem with your flop play. All of his most likely hands have you in serious trouble (AK, AA, KK, QQ, JJ, TT). Since you have the Ac, he less likely to be making this move with a flush...

Re: HU, small blind completes

Heads up when the blinds are small in relation to the stacks, like at the beginning of a heads up tournament match, I'll almost always either open for a raise or fold. On about 5% of the hands, I'll...

Re: Late play as the chip leader

In the situation you give, you're getting better than 5-1 odds on your call (putting in 600 to win 3100). You should call with any two cards here. Even if he has AA, you're getting about the right...

Re: Is this a string bet?

It's not a string bet, but why did they both check their full houses on the river?

Re: Another mistake with AQ?

The minimum re-re-raise of a re-raise really smells like AA preflop, or whatever the current nuts is postflop.

Re: 2 hands for review

On Hand 1, you're getting about 6:1 odds to call and the extra 675 isn't a very big percentage of you're stack. The only way you're not getting the right odds to call is if both your cards are...

Re: Tournament Question

I think it would be wrong to play your JJ any differently in those circumstances.

And there's no point in fretting about the AK hand that followed. If you had folded the JJ, then the...

Re: A river to bluff?

If I'm in his spot and I've got a pair, I'm not laying it down on that board for a bet of half the pot (assuming calling wouldn't cripple my stack). I'd be putting you on AK or AQ after that...

Re: Fold AA Pre-fl... errr, on the turn?

Thanks for the comments. I agree that given the way I played the flop, it seemed like an easy call. I put him on a pocket pair and that he was raising to try to get overcards to fold since I...

Re: OFFICIAL Stars Quarter Million Thread

I think you played the KK hands fine. More important than the risk of only taking the blinds if you put the other players all-in right away, you don't want to be raising all-in on your power hands...

Fold AA Pre-fl... errr, on the turn?

Here's a hand from last night's Stars 10+1 Rebuy.

Early in the second hour, I have about 13,000 chips which is good for about 70th out of 800 and 2nd on my table.

Blinds are 100/200. I get ...

Top 2-pair vs. straight draw

Here's a hand from a UB $200 SnG last night.

Blinds are 10/20. All relevant stacks are still close to the T1000 starting point.

UTG makes a minimum raise to T40. MP calls, button calls, I...

Re: Impressions of Ultimate Bet SNGs

Sorry, just a weird joke. I was referring to the 8th and 10th place finishes on what was supposedly a six-handed table. I was in a weird mood yesterday. [ QUOTE ]
