Top 2-pair vs. straight draw
Here's a hand from a UB $200 SnG last night.
Blinds are 10/20. All relevant stacks are still close to the T1000 starting point. UTG makes a minimum raise to T40. MP calls, button calls, I call from the small blind with Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], and the big blind calls. T200 in the pot, 5 of us see the flop of Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] I bet out T170. UTG calls, everyone else folds. Turn is 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. There's now T540 in the pot and about T830 left in my stack so I push all-in. Does anyone play this hand differently? Thanks. |

Re: Top 2-pair vs. straight draw
Absolutely not. Good hand. If someone has KJ that is unfortunate, but I like your line.
Nice to see UB has some $200 sngs, i thought they never filled up. |

Re: Top 2-pair vs. straight draw
Thanks for the reply.
The UB $200's have been filling up occasionally the past couple weeks becuase of the SnG promotion they've been running. I've been playing a few of them this week in order to max out the bonus money for the week because I won't be able to play at all over the weekend. I've run into a stretch of knockouts playing aggressively with what I thought was the best hand, only to be shown the nuts, thus the reason for my question as sort of a reality check to make sure I'm not overplaying hands like this. As you guessed, he had KJ for the flopped straight. |
