Re: i cant be ahead..........

I play this hand the exact same way with the exception of the flop, which I cap. If his turn play is the same following a flop cap, that's when I slow down and decide to just call the turn 3-bet and...

Re: How often do you take an extended break from the game?

I played just about everyday for a couple of hours towards the end of my last school semester, and ended up taking the entire summer off. Granted, I was working in London for most of the summer, so I...

5/10 v. 10/20 Win Rate Question

Hey all -

I have played right around 10k hands at 10/20 6-max with a win rate hovering between 3.5-4 BB/100. I realize this is high, and I feel like I should be skeptical of my ability to...

Hover Over Active Window Program?

Hi all -

I remember a post on here from quite some time ago (6+ months) that linked to a program which would cause whatever window the mouse was hovered over to become the active window, thus...

Re: Multi-tabling and Concentration

I 8-table, and I got here by practicing and focusing with the addition of each new table. Also, having no overlap is HUGELY helpful if you want to keep track of the action at each table you play.

Re: Checking flop to protect hand on the turn

The point that I'm trying to make is this (and please, if I'm not making sense someone please tell me):

1) At micro limits, you are often seeing flops with 4-6 players.

2) Most of these players...

Re: Checking flop to protect hand on the turn

[ QUOTE ]
Ok, you have 77 and the flop is 632. I'm having trouble figuring out what safe card can come on the turn. A 7 is the only one I can come up with.

Re: just wanted to brag a little

It's the only $200 pot I've won in over 60k hands of playing 3/6...and it was back in 2004 - but hopefully you'll have more frequent ones than I do.

Re: Checking flop to protect hand on the turn

Betting with a small pair on a flop with undercards, if you think your opponents are likely to call, is not a good decision. You're much better off waiting until the turn, hoping to see one of the...

Re: Checking flop to protect hand on the turn

[ QUOTE ]
Why is it better to check here? I've been betting out in these spots too and I think I need to learn the distinction. I've in fact been more enthusiastic about betting with 77; since...

Re: Unsure of HU play in unraised pot

I think the check/call line is okay, but only because a lot of guys will be bluffing that river once you check trying to get you to fold. I always prefer the more aggressive play, and I think a bet...

Re: Checking flop to protect hand on the turn

Your play is correct...if you're holding 77 and the flop is 236. And even then it's a stretch. The fact is, you're the pre-flop raiser, you should be playing this flop aggressively no matter what...

Re: I have a question?\"

Honestly, losing 65 BBs is nothing. Absolutely nothing. I've lost 65 BBs in about 5 minutes - it happens. Losing 65 BBs over 10k hands doesn't really mean anything either - the fact is, there are...

Losing money on 5 consecutive sessions is not the end of the world - I mean, granted, it's not fun, but if you keep playing TAG poker you're going to be fine and win at a pretty good clip. Here is...

Win rate when you raise?

Just curious, what's the typically BB/hand for most of you on hands when you raise? Mine is .57 BB/hand over the course of over 63k hands, I just wanted to know if this is normal or not. I...

Re: Poker is easy...A6 sooted

Do you even consider making the raise on the turn? I think this will likely make him fear you even more - possibly getting him to fold a pocket pair higher than your sixes.

Re: 3 BB/100 at 3/6 Possible?

I had been playing far too tight and passive pre-flop. I realized that, taking position into account, making isolation raises and playing more hands with big-pot potential is ultimately hugely +EV. ...

Re: 3 BB/100 at 3/6 Possible?

Fantastic - thanks Evan. On a side note, I posted my first +1k day yesterday, which was way cooler than having a 3 BB/100 over a 17k hand period. I hope I can look forward to many more lucrative...

3 BB/100 at 3/6 Possible?

Hey all -

I made a pretty major adjustment to my game on March 20th, and since then I've managed to log 17k+ hands with a BB/100 of 2.94. Do you think this is sustainable at 3/6? I haven't...
