Re: suppose you had AQ
[ QUOTE ]
you have AQ and no flush, what do you do when he c/r the river?
[/ QUOTE ]
Call. I can't fold, but there aren't many hands that I beat that would make sense of the c/r

Re: Checked KK on river
:grunch:
I think I agree with your assessment. I think that he has a weak A. The only other thing that makes sense is a smaller pocket pair or a draw. A very large majority of weaker hands...

As a relative newbie here, I have benefitted from reading about other players' downswings and their frustration with variance, since it helped me deal with the same frustration I've had...

I agree, the forum is on a bad downswing. Is this normal? Will it turn around if we post more or do we just suck?
Sorry, but anyway ya I agree.

I certainly don't think that it's impossible that that is true, but what do you put UTG on that you beat? The only thing...

Yes, poker is an up and down game
I just logged in and when I looked at the first page of this forum I see three threads related to how people are being affected by downswings and not liking it. I'm no expert and there are certainly...

Re: Turn Line
I think I would have to just give up here. MP3s play looks like a straight, but 47/79 just don't seem like reasonable hands even for a fish. 88 is possible as well. UTG worries me a bit more. He...

More importantly, (since, you're right, they're not generally folding), when your Top Pair holds up, or even improves, you have left a BUNCH of money on the table. It may seem like 1 small...

This hand is interesting, tho, in that it highlights the difference in strength between a set and trips. Give Hero 55, and make the board A57, and I'm capping all the way through the...

Check/call the river. I may have slowed down on the turn. You need reads badly on the player. Against a slightly aggressive player, I wouldn't slow down until the river. Against a passive...

I'm very amused that I misread the turn action and then got corrected by someone who screwed it up himself. My advice should be amended to: This is ok, raising flop is standard.

I'd raise the turn instead of the river here, mostly because one thing the generic 0.50/1 player is not good at is folding, so you probably won't lose your customer. Just call down when 3...

Flop: You have an overpair and an OESD. One side of the OESD is to the nut straight on a rainbow board. I three bet this.
Turn: Good. I'm tempted to c/r but that 9 is bound to scare your...

Flop: raise, your opponent could be betting a 7 here. You want to make any A/K/Q either fold or pay to draw.
Turn: Honestly this is a wonderful card. It make it even more...
