3-bet the flop. River card sucks. I just call.

I'm very amused that I misread the turn action and then got corrected by someone who screwed it up himself. My advice should be amended to: This is ok, raising flop is standard.

I'd raise the turn instead of the river here

I'm tempted to c/r but that 9 is bound to scare your opponent so you might as well bet it.

we are out of position for what you guys suggest. I would 3-bet flop and just call the river bet. He sees that there is four to a straight and doesnt care. There are too many broadway cards and full houses are likely. Raising when you are ahead will make him fold, and when you are behind sucks balls.

Grunch.

I would suggest raising the flop when it comes back to you, and cap the river.

What range of hands do you put the opponent on?

Can you please teach me how to raise my own bet on the turn? I can see lots of situations where that line would come in handy!

[/ QUOTE ]

Granted, this is slightly more difficult than your own suggestion of a turn checkraise, but I am still curious which bet we were going to raise since our only opponent has already checked this street.

Edited after looking at the hand again: changed "flop raiser" to "our only opponent"

I agree it is amusing. I was not really trying to correct you, all I was trying to do was have a little fun. I hope my post was taken in the nature that it was intended.
