Re: Sometimes Results Are Hard To Divorce
Re preflop: I would call with A7o even if I wasn't confident that I lose less than 1sb playing it. There aren't too many starting cards better, headsup, than A7o. If you cannot call with that, you...

Re: Two 57.75-115.5 Hands
You assert that you're trying to induce future bluff check-raises from the kid and yet you make him show his hand?

Re: results
Make too-timid guys more timid. Smile wryly after they check behind. Tell em "God damnit, I'll make that river checkraise work yet!" Maybe stops a future bluff you wouldn't call or a value bet you...

Re: Who here is a pro
Isn't the legalization of Hold-em in California a good model for the future of the internet. When it started here, guys would go four raises with, say an 8, on a JJ88x board. Guys would go four...

Re: Playing El Diablo
He puts me on either something better than top two or a pair + flush draw.
Yeah, I'll change my tune...he'll certainly raise AsQx or AxQs and unless I've been hyperaggressive with draws he'll...

Re: Playing El Diablo
It's Hero's turn cap that is the most telling. He won't cap with a just a flush draw or a pair and a flush draw. He will cap with AQ (including AsQs). He'll also cap with TT, JJ, and planning to...

Re: 55 flop decision with very little to go on.
This clearly depends on your recent history at the table and with this guy. You've been the pounder: he folds A4, 76, maybe even 98. You've been the poundee: he at least calls and often raises with...

Re: Sometimes you just get outplayed.
The tight player's chips don't have more value, but the opportunity to get some of them is precious. Using some exaggeration to illustrate: Suppose the tight player sees a flop once every 24 hours;...

Re: A-Q vs. A-Q
Preflop, coldcalling a solid conservative UTG raiser with AQ is more adventurous than seems prudent.
Postflop, UTG would not want to raise (heads-up) many of the hands he would expect a solid...

Re: Huge pot, huge draw
If your 3-bet would fold somebody or two, might that be advantageous? Pot's already impressive, due for further engorgement. Either getting rid of longshots (7,5 turns 2pr, rivers FH, Th9c turns...

Re: I gotta call this river, right?
Josh,
The turn cap is at least a straight 80% or 90% or 95% but there are many players who could have something less, and 5% or 10% or maybe?? 20% of the time you'll see a worse hand.
My numbers...

Re: I gotta call this river, right?
I know the orthodoxy is to call preflop with any two when the small blind is 2/3, but when I factor in my present skill level, I fold this emesis.
Yah, 3-bet the turn to maximize against a drawing...

Re: 30/60 hand
One opponent is "loose", the other is "very loose". Will a better hand fold?
If UTG has a better hand, it's probably a low flush, 2-pair, or a set, not AK. So he seems likely to crying call. ...
