Re: Question on table image
I dig that advice, lol. And I agree with what Hem said about asking questions. Questions imply a lot. They imply genuine interest when small talk appears more like you're uncomfortable and would...

Re: Quite an Odd Game
Ok, thanks for all this. Now when should the necessity to eliminate players preflop overwhelm my desire to avoid taking early position on the folp? Or at any other time, I suppose. Obviously it...

Re: Quite an Odd Game

Re: Quite an Odd Game
Thanks a bunch, this is some of the most in depth discussion I've had so far. To answer some of your questions:
You can go all in before the flop.
There's a little raising BTF but not much. The...

Quite an Odd Game
I posted these concerns in another forum and was directed here, so hopefully someone can offer me more valuable advice.
Certainly, the game I've stumbled upon is not the mainstream version of...

Re: quite an odd game
Someone will go all in perhaps 1 out of 8 hands. Is there any way I can use the early position gained by raising to my advantage? Perhaps checking from my early position as if I was unsure whether to...

unheard of structure
Certainly, the game I've stumbled upon is not the mainstream version of hold'em. It is a scramble between a 2/4 small stakes game and no limit, with 25c small blinds and 50c big. Bets and raises can...

Re: quite an odd game
Buy ins are $40.00, with multiple rebuys. Tall stacks up to $300, but we all start with $40.

Slump, look away, stare the cards down as if you're trying to make them change with your eyes. Look uneasy, even ill. If you catch your opponent looking at you, glance away and back and away again....

Re: struggle for the antes
I, too, came across this curiosity. I play in a home game with miniscule blinds in comparison to both our chip stacks and the ensuing bets. It's a NL hold'em game with a very odd structure, the max...

Re: Simple Abortion Question
Now my question is what percentage of men would encourage their accidentally impregnated wives to chose the new procedure vs. encouraging them to have the abortion?

Re: Simple Abortion Question
I think the argument these women employ is as much the right to do what they will with their bodies, but the right to do what they will with their lives. 16 years after their acceptance to this...

Re: Making Players Pay Attention at Home Games
Appreciate and take advantage of their inattentiveness. Just give them a nudge and say, "Five bucks to you, little blind." whatever. I play a game with the same problem whenever the Lakers come on,...

Perhaps challenge them in a constructive manner. Bring imported beer, or wine, 2-3 bottles and leave the unopened to the guy who drops the most cash if you feel that bad. Are these guys your friends?...
