Hi,
I remember reading somewhere, that good poker players play around 20% of the hands they're dealt preflop. I also read its good to raise about 7% of the time, preflop.

I would like to know...

Tournament Poker to NL Ring Games

Hi all,
I have a general question regarding the move from NL tournament poker, which i seem to do fairly well at, and ring game NL poker. Lately I've been pretty mediocre at the low limit online NL...

General Micro Limit Strategy

Hi,
I haven't played any cash game in about a month, been tight on cash. Seeing as I was never able to win consistently at 1/2 and 2/4 I figure I'd give .50/1 a shot. So what I am looking for are...

Re: Etiquette- Flipping Cards

Thats a good question. I saw it happen at the Taj. I had never seen this tactic before. What was even weirder was the guy's decision. The board was K-3-4-6-2. The guy flipped over a 5-J or something...

Today I had the chance to triple up. I had 10's and I knew one opponent could have anything, he was a maniac. And I figured the other had two over cards. We all called all in (i had short stack)....

Re: Don\'t You Guys Understand This Simple Fact?

I've been thinking a lot about it, and I think I came up with a pretty good analogy. Lets take major league baseball. Ichiro Suzuki's batting average is .378 and his on base percentage is .417. This...

Re: S-Curve Hypothesis

yeah, I would have to say that was one of the smartest, yet best explained "theoroms" I've read in some time. Its nice to hear a mix of math and the english language.

Re: Don\'t You Guys Understand This Simple Fact?

Aces and David,
Let me reiterate Aces logic. 1000 people in a tourney, 1000 chips each, everyone has a 1/1000 chance of winning. Agreed. Fastforward...500 players left, 2000 chips each, 1/500 chance...

Re: Negreanu\'s tournament theory regarding big pots.

This is a reaction to this entire thread. I would think that if one got double the chips, he'd have much more than double the chances to win the tourney. Of course the downside is that you need to...

Re: Amarillo Slim

Why are you jumping down my throat? Is it a scientific fact that if I ask 30 people their birthday that 2 of them will definitely have the same birthday? I don't think so, so why don't you calm down....

Re: Amarillo Slim

I guess I should have asked the math whizzes out there more directly...I was wondering if Slim's calculations, of even money and 70%, are correct. I tried doing (364/365)(363/364)(362/363)...etc, and...

Amarillo Slim

First time short time...
In Amarillo Slim's bio he claims that there is an even money chance that 2 out of 23 people will share the same birthday. He then says if you ask 30 people their birthdays,...

Re: How to count the combinations to get a pair in the hole.

You want to know why there are 6 combos for aces? Simple. The Ac has three partners...The Ah, As, Ad. That's three combos right there. Next, we take the Ah...we already counted Ah/Ac, so Ah only has...
