Re: AQo - First hand at Table
I check/call the river.
my reasoning is that the board is scary enough that you can't really call a raise on the river, but since its the first hand if you fold it on the river they might try to...

Re: A 10 off against superLAG
I play it exactly the same. any potential equity you lose by not capping flop will be made up if you make a big hand (big being tens = top pair in this case).

Re: AK
well by more than half the time I really mean he is either going to fold to a raise (making the call obsolete, except some future tilt equtiy), or has you beat.
granted, this doenst detract from...

Re: AK
I would probably just call the river, as I figure he has me beat over half the time.
I could be wrong though.

yeah this is an annoying situation which I wonder about too.
Its one of the situations that is easy to decide based on mood- if your slightly steaming you see showdown, if you're running really...

Re: Turn Raise
I can't think of a single player who would fold JJ-KK against me here. So I wouldn't ever make this play. (maybe I just play a lot of fish, or I have a loose table image, who knows...)
plus, half...

Re: 66 hand- acceptable?
hmm... there seems to be some disagreement here.
my reasoning was to have him fold out overcards.
If he 3bets the turn I fold, and if the river is K or A and he donk bets I also fold.
If he...

Re: 99 in a pissing contest?
probably should fold the flop. Definately the turn... unless you are convinced all 3 of your opponents have AK (and are all poor players). In otherwords... FOLD.

Re: Inducing a bluff standard?
I like your play better than checkraising the turn. I would play it exactly the same, except against very those players that just call everything but never re raise with less than the nuts or a...

Re: Folding Rivers After Turn Raises
I disagree. I say you call the river. People make crazy plays against me all the time like this with something like AK or even KJ or 22.
Maybe the way I play inspires people to make these moves...

Aggessive player dilemma:
This refers mostly to 2-6 player games.
I often have this problem when my aggressive opponent caps preflop.
Lets assume for arguments sake: (they capped preflop, we're heads up in the pot) ...

Re: Did I overplay this?
I think your line is good here.
If they villian isn't very aggressive I would lead the turn and I might check/call the river, because he will often have KT. But he could have 2 pair or lower set...

In that case, how would the villian be defined? This was the only crazy play I saw him make, up to this point he would only see flops with fairly strong hands, folded his BB to button raises quite...

Re: AA 5 handed
If I played this same hand today in my 10/20 game, I would defineatly lead the river, rather than c/r it. In my experience if someone played that way, they are going to check the river 30% have a...
