Re: A rules question
They have to make it $150, and a raise would have to be at least $300 (or all-in).

Re: Tourny Hints?
Blinds go up every 20 min, tourney's usually last under 3 hours.
Thanks for the input. First time reading through the MTT forum, and your advice seems right on with what I've seen so far.

Tourny Hints?
I've been playing in a weekly tournament, about 30-40 people, where the blinds start out at 25xBB. How should this affect my play, from say a tournament that starts at 50x or 100x, or even from a...

Re: Completing with weak offsuit aces?
Yikes, sorry that was poorly put forth. I think I edited that line a bit too much...
Hitting two more to your straight draw = Good
Hitting your card and a back-door straight draw = Bad
But...

Re: Completing with weak offsuit aces?
Well the Aces-up two pair are a lot better implied odds than others, and often enough people don't believe the bicycle when they see it. If I'm getting 2.5 times as good odds than any of the limpers,...

Re: Standard? Not-So-Standard? Horrible?
Don't get me wrong, there's not much on the river I'm not calling. As played the $41 went in on the turn and was folded with no chance of winning. I'd rather put that into a call on the river where I...

Re: Standard? Not-So-Standard? Horrible?
My tendency when the third A comes on the river is to think, wow i liked my hand before and now i really like it. But that KQ is squarely the reason why I shouldn't get carried away. If I was WA/WB...

Re: Standard? Not-So-Standard? Horrible?
I think the fold is good on the turn here.
How about betting full pot on the flop, and checking behind on the turn. Then there's 81 in the pot on the river, if he bets less than that you can call....

Re: Completing with weak offsuit aces?
On the other hand, I trust their play a lot more than I trust mine (wtfsvi and amoeba), so it's probably a hole in my game. I also mostly only play tournaments.

Re: continuation bets
I agree. A Q or J-high disconnected board is a good time for it. I think you'll find yourself saving money when you stop doing it habitually.

Re: Completing with weak offsuit aces?
I don't see much wrong with completing here. You're getting 3,5,7:1 on your money, and you're not likely to be that much of an underdog ever. If you hit two pair or an OESD, you're good; otherwise,...

Re: JTs after a reraise preflop
You're looking for advice on how to play JTs oop against a pre-flop limp-reraiser. The answer: there isn't a great way to play it, so fold it pre-flop. Here you flopped TP+flush draw, and it's still...

Re: now this is how you handle a bad beat

BB played it horrible.

Agreed. The small reraise on the flop was bad enough. Then giving him 8:1 on the turn, MP1 is more than correct to call with TPTK. In fact, given...

LOL, I guess I don't -- or at least not well. Still don't play that though -- I have, but it's not usually good.
Glad it worked out for you.

Re: high card ace
I'm saying I may call $3, but not $6. I realize you're on the button, but I still don't play A8o, especially since it's not likely to get MP to fold, and it's only going to be better than a random...

I would say that it's still about having the best hand most of the time.
This differs quite a bit from the OP. Hero there has second pair, and is betting that Villain does not have a K. The...

Re: high card ace
I don't think there's anyway I call it here -- maybe 15:1?
Any legitimate Ace he could have called with beats you, and that's assuming he didn't already have a pair. KT/QT just doesn't call that...

Thanks for the input.
#1 I guess I just really didn't buy him having an Ace with that crappy betting pattern. It seemed like he didn't think it hit anyone and he'd see if his KQ hit. I don't...
