Made straight vs. Flush Flop
The SB is LP preflop, but aggressive postflop. The BB is a solid TAG.

Re: suckout, or missed bets?
I would cap the turn. His turn re-raise could come from him putting you on two overcards. You are probably still ahead unless he hit two pair with the J. If he did, he will most likely lead out on...

Re: QQ in BB, capped 4 way pot
You have to determine the range of hands the CO might have and which ones you can beat. Since you have no real reads on him, he could have a number of hands.
In any case, you can't really fold. ...

Re: QQ in BB, capped 4 way pot
You have to cap it! Only AA and KK are beating you pre-flop. Your pot equity is large here.
As for the flop, bet. There are no overcards to your Q's, so you are most likely the best hand. Of...

Re: Bad beat or bad betting?
I'm not going to play this differently because I lost. I posted this to see if I lost too much money due to the WAY I played/bet. I would play this the same way again if put in the same situation. ...

Bad beat or bad betting?
I sat down at a table and this was 5 hands in. No read on villian, but the table was more tight than loose. Villian hadn't bet a hand to that point.

Re: hand reading exercise
I'll throw my two cents in here. Of course, my hand reading skills are still awful, so I had to use a pen and paper.
1. I put you on the preflop at A's-T's, AKs-AJs, KQs, & AKo.
2. I put...

Re: Do I bet this river?
I would bet the river. Nobody has shown any aggresion toward you yet. Maybe they think you have KK because of your preflop raise and bets on each street.

Re: A couple of AK hands
*grunch*
Without reads:
Hand 1: Just call the river bet. With villian open betting every street, he must have something "decent".
Hand 2: Looks good

Re: Did I wimp out on the river?
Yep. The more I read on this website, the more I learn differences in my game compared to others. In this case, I usually will bet in this situation if I ended up pairing a K or Q, but a 9 seemed a...

Re: Cold-calling 3 bets on flop
To be honest, with the few hands I played against them, I didn't notice anything unusual about their postflop play. The blinds had about 50% VP$IP each, but that is over twenty hands.

Re: Did I wimp out on the river?
I'm just curious, did you bet the flop to protect your hand or are you value betting? The reason I'm asking is that in this type of situation, I check with 2 players to my left, an A showing, and a...

Cold-calling 3 bets on flop
I froze up after the flop. I think my brain short circuited.
Both blinds are LAG. UTG+2 entered 3 hands earlier and had played all 3.

Re: 2nd nut flush
I think I would call down. UTG has to put you on a flush if you bet the flop and the turn. Without reads, it would be difficult to raise here.

Re: .50/1 Party Hand
Preflop and flop standard. On the turn, you have to figure out where you stand after the raise. If you think he has two pair or a set, you could cut the hand loose. Personally, I usually call here...

AK overcard hand
MP1 has put money in a little over 80% and has won 4 of the previous 5 hands. Seems to be playing anything and everything. CO is slightly loose, but has a PFR of 20%. Both players were slightly...
