As long as we are on it - I'll give a story from the other side.

About halfway through a 20MTT. I have about 9K in chips - my villan has about 7K, average stack is about 5K.

He raises preflop to like 3 or 4x BB (bout 600). I look at pocket 77 and call. Flop comes 9xxr. He bets, a huge over bet, like over half his remaining stack. I think he's holding AK and trying to buy the pot, so I call. He turns over 99.

Turn: 7
River:7

I was counting my lucky starts.

That's funny...

Early in my poker career I was drawing to what I thought was an open-ended Ace-high straight...hit the straight on the turn, other guy calls my bet and he hits his nut flush on the river. I almost muck, cursing my luck. I flip over my cards to show what I just lost with...and suddenly all the chips are being pushed at me!

WTF?

Oh...his nut flush card made me a Royal.. Oops. Didn't even see it, I was so consumed with hitting my straight.

This one didn't happen but would have been hilarious if it did. I was playing 2 sngs at the same time while perusing 2+2 posts.

I was in great shape on both of them when all of a sudden I look and I'm down to 200 from over 3000. I see my opponent won the hand with pocket aces and I had 2,3o. I'm stunned and trying to figure out what the hell happened. Somehow with all the switching between the 2 tournies and this forum I managed to call an all-in bet after the flop with 2,3o when the flop completely missed 2,3 with no draws.

Can just imagine what my opponent might have been saying and doing if I hit a miracle runner, runner to beat him. But that only happens in the movies and to the other guy, not me.

Please explain - I'm kinda confused. If he had the "Nut FLush" so the A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] or K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (if the A was on the board) - how did you end up with the royal?

I once got all my chips in the middle with the chip lead vs. the final two opponents of a SnG. If I won the hand, I won the SnG. I had KK, and got called by QQ and KQo. The flop came rags, and the only way I could lose was if the case queen hit. Of course it did, and I was crippled.

It was a while ago so my memory of the hand isn't great...I just remember the card that made his flush - the 10spades, counterfeited the red 10 in my hand but gave me a royal while giving him a flush...so obviously he couldn't have had the "nut" flush, huh? Plus, I was new to poker and might be rembering it wrong...all I know for sure is that his flush card made my royal...

hey, I've had my quad Kings - on the flop - cracked by runner-runner quad Aces...in a live, 15-30 game...with no jackpot.

Beat that!

I beat some dude about a year ago who flopped quad Kings and I got runner-runner Royal Flush...

And Mohegan Suns has no jackpot, either.

He still doesn't talk to me, especially after we raised and reraised each other for the $400 or so we each had in front of us as he didn't see the Royal Flush on the board.

Oh, well.

FTLT...

I was in a SnG the other day, and early on I get cowboys. There's a raise before me, so I go all-in. There's another caller of my all-in, and of course the raiser calls.

What do they flip? KK and AA.

And what happens? The KK's hit the straight.
