yeah, still not sure if i like this play or not, i think i like it against him because he can fold the Kh here. probably just calling was best but i thought the Jh was a likely hand for him while the Ah was unlikely (from the bet size).

[/ QUOTE ] nice read, nice follow-through. this is exactly the type of player to make a move like this against. having a hand with showdown value makes this seem harder than it really is. given your read, you would raise here without the T of hearts wouldn't you? assumptions(given reads): - will always fold the J of hearts. - will sometimes fold the K of hearts. - Ace of hearts is less likely than K or J. without actually giving specific #'s to these situations, raising the river here regardless of your holding seems to be the right play. |

Let's say you just called his small bet, and he showed the Kh and you lose -- would you be thinking to yourself "damn, I should have raised... "?
I don't think this raise is worth it on bluff value alone, particularly since I think he might have check-called with a Jh or Kh (and even if he does have one of those two, he STILL might call you). Usually, you're just going to take the pot from an inferior hand, sometimes you're going to lose that bet to the ace, sometimes you're going to lose that bet to a Kh or Jh, sometimes you'll push a K or J out.. If you'll sometimes get called by a worse hand, then I'd say it's worth it. |

I guess ill be the first to say it since no one else is. Whats up with playing 10/K offsuit? I mean I just assume you were the large stack and you were "feeling it" that session. Or maybe you were mixing your play? Id rather mix up my play with 10/J suited or something instead though.
