It will take you about a year trying to clear the bonus at $.50/$1.00

[/ QUOTE ]

I disagree. I started the bonus last night playing .50/1.00. And I estimate that it's going to take me about 5 days. And thats only if I don't play any $1/$2 this week. I typically play 2 games at a time and sometimes 3 for 2-3 hours a night and 5-6 hours a day on weekends.

>I would say %30 is about the average

Note that Party counts uncalled bets in their stats while Stars doesn't. Therefore the difference is less than it may seem.

uncalled bets have to do with pot-average...which is obviously not the same as SeeFlop %.

you are correct that the party pot-avg's are a bit 'inflated' compared to other sites becuase of this.
probably by about about .3-.5BB or so.

party does not list the flop-% in their lobby.

the numbers on p-tracker are calculated the same way for the different sites to my knowledge.

Yes. Also note that when I say last night's Stars tables were at 29.7%, I was referring to VI$IP. Regardless, the same stat for Party is usually just under 40% for the $1/2 limit.

Yesterday 1600 hands at Stars. 3/6 and 2/4. VPIP 38%
See flop was 46%

Its not just about playing the easiest players to me. I want to improve and move up. Are you gonna become a better golfer playing with 30 handicappers or 4's?

i agree with the general idea here...but playing fishier players is a more efficient way to build one's bankroll.

and i also believe that table-selection is part of the process as well.

Exactly what you want - to win just the blinds every time you get AA.

Abdul Jalib calls that a castasrophe.

Somewhat related question:

Do you actually have to spend the FPPs to clear the bonus, or do you just have to reach the required number of FPPs? I made my first ever deposit to 'Stars (to get this bonus) and so far I'm enjoying it; the games don't seem that much tougher than Party's at 5/10, and I just won my first 2-table SNG (yes, I know, it's a very limited sample, but I've been having a good time nonetheless). But anyway, if I have to actually spend the 750 FPP to get the $150, i'll be kind of bummed, as I wanted to spend it on books instead. Thanks.

I understand your point as well. Everyone has different goals and plans for their poker play. I want to move up ASAP so if I lose a BB or 2 an hour its worth it to hone my game for bigger limits and tougher play.

I'm sure when I get to the higher limits, table/site selection will become much more important to me.

The latter.

The bonus will be credited to your account automatically when you have earned the required FPPs. They will not deduct the FPPs you earn in clearing the bonus -- you can still use them to buy books or enter tournaments or what have you.
