i honestly believe no one has made more money from online poker than erik 123. my guess, 2-3 million easy-- maybe 5 (but i doubt that high). btw, 6 figures is achievable but i dont know if its "commonplace". i know im not even close to that.

I read a thread on RGP a few months back where someone I trust claims he is not super great at these high limit games. Also, he adds money to his stack a lot.

You can probably find it in google.

Sparbot - Was a good opponent at first, but I soon found myself dominating this bot. Its a basic strategy bot that doesnt adapt youll find yourself picking sparbot apart. You could however find this bot useful for other things.

vexbot - Ill give it some more time not looking good though

Even though I was really disappointed with the competition I still think my heads up play improved as a result. Easily worth $70, Worth your time? If your serious about moving to HU I think so.

Hi there,
Sparbot is a good balanced, defensive heads-up player, and it is definately good to spar against and practice your game. Of course, as you mention, it does not adapt over time, so once you find its cracks, you can keep hammering at them forever.

Vexbot is highly adaptive, but unfortunately the version of Vexbot we shipped in PPA 1.0.0 and 1.0.3 was terrible. We released version 1.0.4 yesterday, with a much improved vexbot. You can download a patch from our website.

I know I am obviously biased, but I have to say that playing sparbot and vexbot have done *wonders* for my heads-up game. Prior to training, I was a terrible heads-up player (I had difficulty adjusting from the full-ring game). After training on these bots, I was able to do very well on the paradise heads-up games. One thing is certain -- once you play 15000 hands against a non-trivial opponent, you have a lot more confidence heading into a match against a real player, for real money.

Some other people have commented that the heads-up AI in PPA is not as strong as the full-ring AI. It is actually quite the opposite -- however it is understandable that it is perceived this way. Full-ring game play is much simpler in some ways. You can play a strong full-ring game by being tight and aggressive, and making good solid +EV decisions.

Heads-up play is an entirely different monster. It is a war-dance between two players, and it is all about zigging when they zag, and out modeling each other. Any tiny flaw in your style is magnified in heads-up play.

Anyhow, we appreciate any sort of feedback, as we are continually working to improve the AI. We will not stop until we have a world champion :-)

A few more things I never adjusted any stteings i left it all at default and i meet all the system requirements, but it still occasionally freezes

[/ QUOTE ]

Could you please e-mail us the details of your system setup (OS version, RAM, Video card type, etc...). We have heard a small percentage of our customers have had occasional freezes, and it may be related to a videocard problem, but we need more feedback in order to track it down.

Thanks,
Aaron Davidson,

I have known Gautem for about 23 years. I first met him while dealing roulette in the Casinos here in Edmonton to put my self through university. He played a little roulette. We didn't have poker in the Casinos back then.

We occaisonally played poker here in Edmonton when a few clubs opened 10-11 years ago. Although we both played regularly, I only played in the evenings in a mostly full ring game while he usually played after midnite (hence the name Count Dracula...or The Count).

He liked the late night game that usually got short where his ultra aggressive style against the weak players made him a legend in the late night games.

I believe this is where he honed his aggressive, shorthanded skills, where he has made most of his online money (250K a year) in the last few years in the 20-40 5 handed game.

He is also an excellent Omamha Hi player. He was always a formidable opponent because of his agressive style and understanding of the game.

He used to be into sportsbetting as well and published handicapped sports betting for the SUN. He has always been strong with math and stats (I believe he has a degree in one or the other from the U of A).

Gautem, if you ever read these 2+2 posts, I hope you don't mind me sharing a little history about you (its Tim P by the way).

I just saw the thread on RGP.

Tom W. is no doubt one of the smartest guys on RGP but he is way off the mark with his comments on the Count.

I have known the Count for more than 20 years; he's a very good friend of mine and was the best man at my wedding. I am obviously privy to more info than Tom about the Count's actual online results which can only be described as mind boggling.

Incidentally, I haven't seen you at the Holiday Inn in ages. Don't I still owe you a lunch? Give me a call or drop me a PM or something so we can hook up.
