It's a good thing that you were so aggressive and it might have eventually won you the hand. Being in the position that he was, SB, I don't think he would call pre-flop with anything less than A-7. Either way, I would lean towards him having a small PP, say wired 6's. The reason is, the small blind usually wouldn't call you down with no pair and a lonely ace to an early position pre-flop raiser. He may have been calling you to make a set, which would have been undetectable to you. He called at the end mainly because he was getting pot-odds. Besides, it's hard to determine what players are playing at the 3-6 level.
