I'd raise because you could be best and need more info. CO could be betting with a lower pair or nothing since it's LP. If CO 3-bets a hand is likely.

Raise b/c you have top pair, plus call is too weak could get people to drop with a raise.

I'd raise, you have top pair and can protect against 4-5 outers.

Not if they call.

Not if they call. To those advocating a raise: what's your plan for the rest of the hand if:
1) everyone calls
2) everyone folds except the CO
3) you get check three-bet by someone other than the CO
4) you get three-bet by the CO

[/ QUOTE ]

In fact, it was number two.

I was fairly happy when the rest of the field folded. The turn and river were both blanks and I bet and he just called both streets. He flipped over KQo. I wanted to reach through the monitor and strangle him, but I just made a note.

I'm not complaining, but at these tables it seems like villan is just as likely to flip over complete junk as he is KQo. You never know where you stand, because a good percentage of them with call if they have nothing and call if they have a great hand.

Don't pay too much attention to this since I'm a rookie
A/ I'd like to see the turn a spade or a 6 would improve my position significantly and I could have the best hand CO could easily have AJ or something, so I would at least call.
B/ I'm quite vulnerable. Since I'm in position to protect I do that with a rasie.

Don't know why i said call, In reality i'd of raised so god knows why i posted something i'd not do.

I did think we were behind and that he wouldnt 3bet with a high king/good kicker. But calling does nothing.

You played fine, but i find in these spots i have "Leaks".
My gut says "YOUR BEHIND FOLD DAMMIT" but my brain says "raise".

maybe its not such a big leak, but when you hold a crappy kicker i think its a leak of mine and would be good to plug it.

I probably wouldnt have bet the river, check/called as after him calling the turn its unlikly he will fold to a river bet. Also we MIGHT(they usually bet) get a free SD.
