But I'm not sure about 3-betting the flop. Like I said, I think my chances of winning this pot unimproved are 0. So why 3-bet when it may blow out others and give away my hand? [/ QUOTE ] 3 betting a flush draw in EP will pretty much never give away your hand. |

3 betting a flush draw in EP will pretty much never give away your hand. [/ QUOTE ] Followed by a turn check? Even idiots at the B&M seemed to pick up on that. Obviously if I hit the flush on the turn it doesn't give it away but if I miss? |

Players will fold if they haven't hit their hand there anyways. You would be suprised how many players will pay you off if they have something decent. You more than make up for profits lost on the river by the immediate bets that go into the flop and the time when your draw hits on the turn and they can't put you on a flush. Get the money in there when your equity edge is large and worry about thinking players when you make it to the final table of the wsop. |

Re: Donked every street w/ flopped flush draw, turned flush
The pot will be big enough on the river that they're going to call you anyways, since the villain would probably bet on the turn.

Re: Donked every street w/ flopped flush draw, turned flush
Some people are advocating a flop 3bet for equity reasons. I am fine with just calling the flop as long as the reason for doing so is so that button will again raise your turn bet and that you can three bet the turn.
You could c/r button's turn bet for protection but I prefer value raising small made flushes here. Single high card flush draws aren't going anywhere and hopefully, many of them are chasing the same draw, meaning even fewer diamonds are left to hurt you. So as Brad mentioned your flush has both high equity but still vulnerable. You need to either pump the turn for value (I prefer the bet-3bet) or c/r for protection, but your in the middle line doesn't really do either. |

Re: Donked every street w/ flopped flush draw, turned flush
A turn C/R will not protect his hand from flushes that beat him. C/Ring that turn would be terrible.

Re: Donked every street w/ flopped flush draw, turned flush
Wow... just finished reading this thread, got my first hand and picked up pretty much the same hand (flush draw off flop with middle pair). Won due to folds because of my aggression, which would not have been there before reading this thread. Thanks!

Re: Donked every street w/ flopped flush draw, turned flush
plus if they ARE calling on the turn with their lone [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] they most likely not going to pay you off, so get the money now and even if they do: you get more money then too.
ooh and if some one has 2 pair or trips hoping to boat up, same thing. |
