Default Re: Up limits or more tables?

When I first thought I was ready for 10/20 I started by playing 2 5/10 tables and then using good table selection would play 1 10/20 table. In this way I was starting to get a feel for 10/20 while still playing my bread & butter which meant still making good money & covering the ups & downs involved with getting used to 10/20. I now play only 1 or 2 10/20 tables at a time & will add in 1 or 2 5/10 at the same time during many sessions. I feel I can pay less attention to 5/10 talbes than 10/20 while still doing well.

Any forward thinking player should be aiming for 2-3BB/100. My 5/10 at Party for the last 50K has hovered around 2BB/100. Playing Absolute I was more like 2.4BB over 40K. If you aren't shooting for at least 2BB/100 you are not thinking properly.

So you're saying if I play mainly for money (as I do), the best advice would be for me to move up from 5/10 to 10/20?

If you feel you're ready and if you want to increase your earn, then I think moving up is the way to go.

Some people, myself included, are very reticent about moving up in stakes. I've been given a few kicks in the backside to get myself up in limits and I am very glad to have received them. I was returning the favour.

Moving through the lower limits up as far as $5/10 should just be done ASAP by most serious players I think. $5/10 to $10/20 is a bigger jump, though: doubling stakes and quite a different texture of game. Certainly not a leap to be taken lightly but something you should definitely try in my opinion.

Guy.

I am wondering how many hands you have played at 2/4 and 3/6 that you are 2 or 3bb per 100?
Sorry if you already stated it.
