The indie movement was the biggest infusion of new talent and vision since 2000, but a lot of people dont care for it. Its absolutely bizarre to me though that people know atmosphere now, a few years ago the only way I could get that stuff is on dubbed tapes straight from minnesota.

Anyways- Here's my list for you:

Little Brother- Couldnt get anything from em till around 2001.

Cannibal Ox- 2001ish

Atmosphere- You couldnt really get anything by them until around 2000.

As far as a new biggie or pac, nah nothin new. Some people actually thought the Game was the new light, however.

I caught a little Atmosphere at Coachella in 04. It wasn't pretty.

I only know them from seeing them live but I like hip-hop, not rap and these tickled my fancy:
Aceyalone
Eyedea and Abilities
Buck 65
Sage Francis
Greyskul (don't know if they have anything out yet)

That particular list was one of talent that emerged post 2000, in response to the truths question.

Although, they made my list anyways. I used to almost vomit when I listened to Cannox, now its one of my favorite albums of all time. A lot of my list he probably wont like, but if he gets a cheap listen its worth it IMO.
