Re: Greatest strength/weakness as a player
Strengths: I think I can claim to be pretty good at betting for value, even in some pretty marginal situations. I'm also pretty happy with my blind play (steals and defense), but based on some recent discussion in HUSH, I could probably stand to loosen up some in the SB.
Weaknesses: I'm terrible at recognizing situations where it's best to wait for the turn. I very seldom use this play, and I know I'm the worse for it. My hand reading, while improving, isn't where it needs to be. I am good at putting my opponents on a range of hands, but I don't necessarily narrow it as much as it could be narrowed as I gain more information. |

Re: Greatest strength/weakness as a player
Strength: Super competitive, confident, good tilt control.
Weakness: Staying in tough games, staying when I'm stuck (this comes from competitiveness and I've cured it online I think but live it still gets me) -DeathDonkey |

Re: Greatest strength/weakness as a player
strengths - I am usually pretty good at getting a read on a player and taking good notes. Mainly b/c I didn't have poker tracker for the last year. I am also a lot better at handling tilt. I just yell out one cuss word and move on (even though it is usually the worst one).
weaknesses - I need to learn to trust my insticts on those reads that I have. Improve my play on 4th street. Thinking ahead while in a hand, not just focus on the play, but my play on later streets. |

Re: Greatest strength/weakness as a player
Everyone tilts to various degrees. Admitting you have a problem is the first step
Strength: Isolating and stealing. Weakness: Underestimating my opponents, hand reading skills are not as good as they could be. |

Re: Greatest strength/weakness as a player
Strengths: Come to decisions quickly and decisively (although this could be a weakness as well), relatively quick learner.
Weaknesses: Still fold a little too much in particular in small-ish pots. |

Re: Greatest strength/weakness as a player
strength - taking notes/making solid reads, only the days "i'm on" though(EDIT - that means I usually suck at reading). discipline; I try to do nothing but play poker when I'm playing, and have no trouble leaving a tough game. Also, I'm a complete luckbox when I make plays I realize later on, I shouldn't. I also have really cool avatars
weakness - Can't stay a luckbox forever. On my off days(and i'm more off than on, mind you), I'm waaaay to over-aggressive. I usually underestimate my opponnents. I get anxious when I recognized 2+2'ers in rooms, and try to hard to "outplay" them. |

Re: Greatest strength/weakness as a player
Strengths: Good at narrowing villains range of cards. Make good value bets
Weaknesses (a lot of them) Don't respect LP raises Defend blinds too often Need to read SSHE Overvalue big starting cards (dont use Flop big or get out concept) I kick my cat too much after bad beats |

Re: Greatest strength/weakness as a player
Strengths: Good at controlling tilt, which doesn't mean I'm not susceptible to it. Pretty good table selection skills.
Weaknesses: Hand reading is a biggie. I'm ok at it, but definitely need to get better. Applying my thought processes that I use in these threads to my actual in-game thoughts. |

Re: Greatest strength/weakness as a player
[ QUOTE ]
I think I play horrible poker. Better than my current opponents, who play atrocious poker, but I still think my overall game is weak. My strength is my determination to get better and willingness to learn and take correction when I'm wrong. [/ QUOTE ] You're one step above me. I know I play horrible poker, but thank god most people on party play even worse. |
