Hey guys, thanks for answering most of my questions. I guess I was just unclear with one.

When I was talking about cashing out. I was thinking more of this example.

Say I am not in a hand (folded or whatever). Could I walk over to the rail to give my friend some money to go play black jack?

And two questions I forgot.
J. Stance on cellphones. Is it ok to have it on, what about answering it.

K. Corrollary, If I go to washroom or (someone else does) the game usually stop? If not and I dont go when its near my blinds, do I still have to post when i get back?

I show him my Q4 off, and hit a 4 on the flop and Q on the river. I don't even wait for the dealer, but reach out with both arms and drag the pot to me, and I tell the guy "Nice call, fish". I was just kidding around, but boy did he become unglued. He wasn't a small guy, and it's a good thing i outweighed hime by 200 pounds or so or I think he might have actually taken a swing at me.

Meanwhile, it's chaos at the table. The dealer admonishes me about scooping the pot myself, so I tell him just for his rudeness I won't be tipping him. That's one of my pet peeves, rude service workers, and I just don't tolerate that.

Yeah, I've read on here that the Bellagio staff can be kind of snooty. But I think if you'd been at the Wynn you'd have been just fine. Or at least I'm a Libertarian, so I wouldn't have any problem with it.

All money must stay on the table. You can not give some of it to your friend or your wife or your pocket. Once it is on the table, it is on the table and can only leave when yu leave the game.

J. Differs by cardroom. I usually have mine on if my wife is somewhere else in the casino, but if she calls I will sit out until I am off of the phone. I just find that to be more polite than sitting in the game, yapping on the phone and slowing the game.

K. The game will not stop. Play will continue on as usual. If you miss a blind, they will usually put a missed blind button on your stack and you post when you return.

You cannot take money off the table under any circumstance other than to tip the waitress. If you want to give your friend some money, it'll have to be out of your pocket.

Cellphone policy varies from cardroom to cardroom. Some rooms don't allow any electronics whatsoever in the whole room while some don't care if you sit there and talk on the phone even while you're in a hand. Generally speaking, most rooms will make you step away from the table if you want to be on the phone.

The game does not stop for you. If you leave, just leave your chips there and your seat will be held for you. If your blind gets to you and you're not there, you'll get a "missed blind" button that tells the dealer that you missed the blind. When you get back, you'll either have to post an amount equal to the two blinds or else wait until the blind gets back to you. If you get back before you miss your blind, then it's no problem - no post.

For the cashing out part, it is correct that once money is in play it stays until you leave, you can however TAKE CASH out of your poket and give it to a friend on the rail or at the table, but cash only no chips that have been in play.

I leave my cell on, if its an important call (mainly the wife) I will fold the current hand and talk, standing by the table but away as not to disrupt and return when I am done with the call. some rooms are more strict on using cell phones even to say hold on or ill call you back.

For the bathroom break, basically try to go after you are the button, if not for being nice, for the fact that at some card rooms, if you are away for whatever reason and a bad beat hits, you will still get your table share IF you havent missed a blind.

This is correct in the strict since, however it can vary slightly from room to room.

For example one of the rooms in my area allows you to take moeny off the table to buyin to the tournament and to pay for meals/drinks/server tips from your stack. While another room in town will not let any money off the table expect to tip the dealer.

So just forget about removing money from the table for anything other than has already been mentioned and if you are not sure, ASK. No harm in asking, lots of harm (well maybe) in doing and not asking.

D. Are you able to stand up and move tables? How long should you generally wait before doing this. For example, online sometimes I know I am outclassed. At that point it makes no sense to compete over fish when I can just move tables.

Note that "moving tables" means changing from one table of (say) 3/6 to another table of 3/6. If you want to change limits, you generally must get on the list for the new limit and wait until your name is called (I.e you can't "move" from a 3/6 table to a 10/20 table)

Just tell the dealer you want to switch seats if one opens. If you want the first available seat change, ask for "1st seat change." A few cardrooms have these buttons, and I love them. Makes it possible to get position certain players and that type of stuff.

[/ QUOTE ]

Some rooms go by seniority at the table for seat changes so asking first doesn't automatically entitle you to a seat change. I prefer seat change by seniority, but I would say it is about a 50-50 split between first player to ask and seniority at the table.

It is possible that your hand will be declared dead if you take a cell phone call while playing, seated at the table. This happened to me once at the Borgata. There was concern that this could be used to cheat, although it was just my dad asking why I hadn't come back the night before (it was 10 in the morning).
