Re: Donk bet at river, is a raise here chip spewing?
[ QUOTE ]
This donk is so moronically stupid that I'd raise. I HATE donks. So much. [/ QUOTE ] Don't underestimate the power of the donk. (I'm only half joking.) |

A raise will only get 3-bet by JJ (or another set) here. You will rarely have to figure out what to do with a 3-bet.

Re: Donk bet at river, is a raise here chip spewing?
[ QUOTE ]
You've been representing AK at every street, unless he's a total moron he must realize that this is what you have. [/ QUOTE ] Nah, there are so many hands a good player would play this way, for instance TT or AQ. Check/call, check/call, bet is often a way ahead/way behind line. It is designed to win the maximum from worse hands when you are ahead -- let the preflop aggressor continue his bluff -- and minimize loses when behind. I would not at all be surprised if villain had something like KT here. Whether villain is good enough to use this line, I dunno. He might also have hit two pair or maybe a set of jacks, but I find most people will try for a checkraise in that spot. You're usually ahead. Raise. |

Thanks for the replies everybody. The villain had been fairly passive throughout, and as one of the posters mentioned, I thought I had represented a fairly strong hand throughout so the donk bet confused me. I then took my standard confused line which is to immediately call without thinking through--I thought I have been missing some standard value bets here and there--I'll work on plugging that leak. Thanks again for the feedback.
Oh, villain had KQ and MHIG. FP |
