Re: Party 5/10 AQs vs LAG
[ QUOTE ]
I think you should 3-bet this hand pre-flop. It would help define his hand more postflop. There are times when I would 3-bet the flop here, and other times when I would fold to a check-raise. More often, I would have been out of this hand without putting a cent in on the flop. This is such a small pot...I don't see taking this hand any further, unless you thought there was a strong likelyhood that your opponent was on a flush draw, in which case, I can't really say you did much wrong. -ropey [/ QUOTE ] I disagree with pretty much everything you just said. I agree with a PF raise, but because you're usually ahead. How does a raise help define his hand? folding this on the flop seems really really bad. |

Wow, I'm surprised everyone hates my PF call so much. I usually just call a raise with big suited connectors in EP.

You have a chance to make sure NO ONE calls behind you without a monster or mental deficiency. You have a chance to get it heads up against a bad player, in position. What else do you need to 3-bet? -d |

PF and flop are ugly. 3-bet PF, get to SD with ace high as cheap as possible. The flop three bet is awful and u're getting c/red just about always on that flop when he checks so I would just check. [/ QUOTE ] word |

Re: Party 5/10 AQs vs LAG
I'm really uncomfortable with calling someone down with just ace high. Is this the default play most 2+2ers make against a LAG HU?

And K high as well sometimes (against maniacs). If u're not comfortable, then fold PF and light a couple of Andrew Jacksons on fire. |

9-bet preflop. Get to showdown cheaply if you don't improve.

Re: Party 5/10 AQs vs LAG
It's all player dependent...but if you have played with an opponent for any length of time, you should know within reason if he will come back over the top, and with what range of hands.
Some players will cap and lead the flop here. Some players will call and check to you. How your opponent reacts to the 3-bet can help you define his hand. Some players who cap and lead the flop will have AK, AA, KK virtually everytime, in which case, you are drawing pretty much dead. -ropey |

Re: Party 5/10 AQs vs LAG
I didn't mean I was uncomfortable with showing down ace high. I'm just more comfortable with taking the lead HU with ace high instead of calling down.
Villian had AJo, BTW Thanks for the comments everybody. I'll 3 bet with AQs next time. |

If villan's a LAG, why aren't you 3-betting preflop? [/ QUOTE ] |
