Is there any way to check how many points you have at any time? I looked on the bonus screen etc but don;t even see any mention of a royal flush club or vip club or whatever.

I've played about 10,000 hands since the start of the month at $1/$2 but that is all at empire. How close do you think I am?

Yes, in one of their menus you can select VIP Account, and it opens a web page with the number of points you have.

They take the square root of the number of raked hands you play each day to determine how many points you get, so it takes absolutely forever by playing just ring games alone.

the real incentive to get to 15k points is in the free $100/mth you get.

When I was closing in on 15k points I just finished it off with a bunch of MTT's.
It's not too tough to get 1k or more points in a day if you just play in a bunch of Empire MTT's.
Obviously 1k points in a day is impossible via raked-hands.

The watch is reasonably nice but it DOES say empirepoker on it.
I haven't gotten it sized yet so it's not THAT big a deal to me.

The TV is pretty nice.
About $450 or so retail. 27" screen Sony Triniton (or something like that).
I posted pictures of the model before but don't feel like looking it up.
Just take my word for it that it's a pretty nice TV.

They don't guarantee which model you are getting because if you live in the middle of nowhere they want to reserve the right to buy you something cheaper. If you live someplace 'normal' you probably get the same model 27" Sony that everyone else has gotten.

There has never been ANYONE who has received any VIP-points bump except for those who get bumped up to 5k points.
After that you're on your own.
(Obviously I can't KNOW this.....but nobody can. A lot of people have asked this question and NOBODY has ever claimed that they got bumped up to 15k points or anything like that and I read these stupid forums A LOT....so I'm going out on a limb here and saying that it has officially NEVER happened).

I just made it yesterday. I did get bumped to vip, but no free points after that.

This is what the email said in my correspondence with them:

[ QUOTE ]
For the calculation of EPoints the day begins at 00:01 EST and ends at 23:59 EST. EPoints from games started before 23:59 but ending after 23:59 are added to the next days points totals.

[/ QUOTE ]

To me that sounds like when the whole tournament ends.
