Brother Al
[ QUOTE ]
Amen, Listen to Brother Al [/ QUOTE ] I was considering starting a "church" (ala Al Bundy and No Ma'am), but for poker players. I could be the "chosen one" and have a tattoo on my ass (ala homer simpson in the stonecutters episode). Mostly I just want tax exempt status for all my bullchit tho. Re: Honestly - pet peeves, angle shoots and what not
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] On the last round of betting whether I'm the bettor or I'm over-calling (with the non-nut flush let's say) or everyone checks, I always wait to show my hand in turn. [/ QUOTE ] If you're the bettor, you show first. [/ QUOTE ] depends on where you play |

Re: Honestly - pet peeves, angle shoots and what not
Dicey, you know the rule at your place, it sounds like. If you make the bet and they call, then turn over your cards. Any other action is a waste of time. As for "bending" the rules, poker isn't like Nascar ... Bending or breaking the rules is not looked on favorably.
But you already knew that, didn't you? |

Not showing first when being last bettor drives me crazy - definitely wrong. Big ole waste of time and not fair.

Re: Honestly - pet peeves, angle shoots and what not
Yeah, no matter what the rule is where I happen to be playing, if I bet last I always show my cards right away when I am called. Also if I call and think I probably have the winner or its close I go ahead and show right away. I figure most of the people I play against are really awful and I want to keep them in their seats and don't want to piss anyone off. Even if someone slowrolls me (a cardroom favorite especially at the 4-8 to 10-20 level) I don't get all bent out of shape or anything. The way I see it I am making alot of money off these people so they can have it their way at the showdown, I really don't care

Re: Honestly - pet peeves, angle shoots and what not
The dealer should point out who should flip their cards first. I believe this is a universal rule of poker (if there is such a thing), however, I see a lot of dealers that just say "show me a winner"....I hate that.
