IT is very hard to determine who is telling the truth here.Vinny has totally different story in his interview with Card Player.
I am not sure what I would have done had the Floor person called the penalty. I am sure I would not have asked for a penalty under anybodys recital of the facts. |

This isn't just about ESPN. It's about etiquette.
I've witnessed 2 or 3 confrontations in the single-table sat's at the WSOP where I thought someone should have been escorted out for excessive yelling/whatever. One hand a few tables away evidently a guy threw his beer at another player or something and they had a couple of shoves and security ahd to be called. Don't really know the details. Played in a $230 at the Palms last night and noticed the bit about no foul language or abuse in their rules. I'm guessing they have a policy about the f-bomb as well even though it's not televised at all. I think that all the bleep-outs at the WSOP last year just embarrassed them too much and they wanted to do something about it. So they just said 'No F-Bombs' and no foul-language. I think this is reasonable. I'm okay with the occasional 'selective' enforcement. I even warned the guy next to me when he whispered '[censored]'. I said "Watch out....you know they're cracking down on that." I just didn't want to see him get nailed. It was quiet enough where the dealer probably wasn't sure whether he heard it or not anyway. Anyway - the WSOP is expecting people to behave like adults and is stating so ahead of time. Side-note: I was playing in a ring-game at the Bellagio the other night and this drunken Aussie (couldn't even see his own cards) is getting drunk enough where he's dropping f-bombs left and right. "Well F'ck!! That's a tough card. I want to f'cking raise!!" There was an 80-year-old geezer as well as a 45-ish old woman at the table (as well as a younger woman....but she had already whispered to me "man...this guy is f'cking bad!!") I was just embarassed to be there. There is a certain amount of respect that should be practiced imo. Before I could tell the guy he needs to be careful with the woman left the table in disgust and then the drunk soon after stumbled his way out. |

i bet you'd get a little pissed if your best friend is about to lose 1/2 million because of a curse word (in a casino!.)
this rule is pretty lame. i agree you can't have a million fucks being yelled but there needs to be some small punishment first, like a 1 hand sit out. 10 minutes is ridiculous and heads up like this is just horrible for the game IMO. i got kicked out of Harvey's poker room in south lake tahoe for saying [censored] once. wasn't directed at any player.. just an accidental "he has me beat!" [censored]. lame. |
