SB is loose and aggressive, slightly passive preflop (45/14/3). He will bet pairs and draws and make strange plays, but he's not retarded (unlike BB) and can read a board.

[/ QUOTE ]

Won't the SB assume you are just raising to hopefully get somebody to fold so the remaining players will play the board?

What is BB's river aggression? Or did you not have this available to you at the time?

1.7. SB is around 1.5.

So the river is the Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], making the final board Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].

SB bets again. BB raises. What's my play?

Rob

Call and hope for an overcall.
There is the slimmest chance BB has AK.

Call and pick up a half bet from the chop.

Hmmm.. at first I thought it mattered, but now that I think about it, it probably does not make a difference.

I would say calling would actually be correct in this case. SB will fold almost always if it is 3-bet (unless he somehow has a K, in which case it will be capped regardless). SB will overcall most times if you simply cold-call, allowing you to collect an extra 1/2 BB those times you split the pot. Given the high river aggression though, I think you may take the whole thing down.

Preflop:

I would raise with KJ here as it is much better than 2 random hands. Also don't mind SB folding and letting me HU vs BB. This way I can get this ATM machine all for myself

If SB calls it's not that bad, he'll often still have a worst hand because he is loose.

Another point is that SB is slightly passive preflop, so I am unlikely to get reraised and HU vs SB. Wouldn't want to shut off the ATM machine...

That's correct. I think I'm terrible about going for overcalls.

Reraise. Even if you're chopping (unlikely, I put them on a Q high straight, at best), you can get an extra SB out of the odd man out....
