Re: July Goals Post
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Work on zen meditation and learning to understand how to be a better player, especially emotionally. [/ QUOTE ] If you were being serious about this, is there a certain book you are reading about this type of thinking and meditation? I'd be interested if you've got a reccomendation. [/ QUOTE ] Rory gave me a link (PM me if you want it or AIM me, my name is entityat), and I'm reading Zen and the Art of Poker (kinda bad, but got some ideas) and am hoping to read Zen and the Art of Archery soon. I think my game is solid enough that as my bankroll increases I'll be able to do better, but I need to get over my attachment to results, bigtime, and just play pure poker. I'm nowhere near there yet. Rob |

Re: July Goals Post
About a week ago, I lost a big pot on the river that I might've won if I would've raised the flop. I swore, punched my file cabinet, fell out of my chair and hit my ass on the hardwood floor. Bruised my tailbone. Got reminded of that hand every time I was on the can.
Goal #1: Take my beats (good and bad) like a man. |

6. personal goal that I dont feel like stating to this forum, but all that's important is I know its here. [/ QUOTE ] She's way out of your league dude! Just kidding...good luck with your goals, though I think it has been mentioned numerous times that setting a dollar amount that you want to win is usually a bad idea. Play well and let the cards fall as they will. |

Re: July Goals Post
your first post sounds a bit strange. i think that's why the comment was posted.
your plan is much more solid than i expected after reading your first post. i think that will be the impression of most other readers as well. |

Re: July Goals Post
1.) Improve enough to beat 2/4 (or just come out of small starting downswing)
2.) Review hands once a week at least 3.) Start posting and replying to threads 4.) Find someone to share hand historys with to review each others hands 5.) Read Middle Limit and HEPFAP |

-Play 12K hands at 5/10SH and not want to drop down. -Do not post or read 2+2 while working at my current freelance gig. 2+2 is for after work. -Post more responses with hand ranges and math and all that good [censored]. -Put all rakeback for June into a savings account. -Finish "The Fortress of Solitude" by Jonathan Lethem and read one of the two books I just ordered: Zen and The Art of Archery or Rich Dad, Poor Dad -Continue going to the gym 4-5 times per week. Lose 5 pounds. -Clean up and organize my living space. -Go to a Dodgers game. -[censored] a stripper. I hope I do better than 1.5/9 this month. [/ QUOTE ] |
