July Goals Post

I really like the Month Goal idea. I didn't get involved in the June thread, and I wish I had. It's a great way to keep accountability and to look at your game over the long haul instead of session by session.

Anyway, this month starts my pro adventure, so I'm going to post my goals in this thread as well.

Please feel free to give recommendations, suggestions or whatever.

July Goals:

1. Play at least 75K hands of 2/4.

2. Reread SSH.

3. Make at least 50 posts in the SS Forum with strategic content.

4. Finish “Improve Your Poker” and “Middle Limit Poker” by Ciaffone.

5. Buy King Yao’s book.

You should put them in the side column of your blog so that you have to look at them more often. (And you should post there every day.)

That's an assload of hands. I'm curious how many you played in June?

1. Finish PE 1-3, King Yao's book, and Inside The Poker Mind.
2. Reread SSH and TOP, possibly HEPFAP as well.
3. Play nothing but 2/4 Full.
4. Put atleast $1K into savings this month.
5. Participate more in Small Stakes. Pooh Bah in a month would be sick.

In June I played about 20K. I'll be playing at least 40hrs/week now though.

I'll play.

One goal and one goal only improve from the BB. My WR from there is horrible. I thought it was a blip at first, but it has gone on too long. I am misplaying against steals.

So my sub goals are:

1. Pay more attention to the player type who is stealing, and adjust accordingly.

2. Part of my problem is worrying about being pushed out by a crap hand. Realise that at this point the pot is only 2.4BB, getting pushed out is not the "mathematical Catastrophe" that Ed Miller refers to when talking about folding in big pots.

I am basically going to tear apart my game from the BB (the SB is excellent).

Any hands I post this month will be BB hands.

This is pretty important for me. Over my last 25,000 hands at 5/10 full I have been just a step away from "crushing" the game. Getting this under control could put me over the top.

I'll take a stab at this.

1. Play 10,000 hands of 2/4
2. Play 2,000 hands short handed (start with $0.5/$1). It seems to be the wave of the future and I haven't experienced it yet.
3. $1,500 total profit including bonus whoring.
4. Get out of the red at 2/4 after 120BB slide to start
5. Keep within my 50/50 bankroll to bank account percentages and not buy more than I can afford.
6. Don't let daily swings effect me so much.
