The opp had A6o.
I posted this hand not because his/her hand was readable but because I couldn't believe, even at Party, that this would be the hand. Also, I meant to include that my read on this opp was that he/she was a typical Party player/fish. I think most of you assumed that anyway. After the fact, I thought a river raise was better (not because of the results, in fact this opp probably would not have called a river raise, but who knows?). The range of legitimate hands includes many that will call a raise. The range of hands that I cannot beat includes many that probably would have three-bet earlier. I could imagine some passive players not three-betting trip sevens. Any other hand that beats me (QQ, JJ) should have three-bet and/or open-raised. |

Re: What\'s he/she got?
Doesn't much matter what he has since I don't see you playing it differently. For what it's worth, I raise river again since you now beat QJ.

[ QUOTE ]
Any other hand that beats me (QQ, JJ) should have three-bet and/or open-raised. [/ QUOTE ] Villain *did* open-raise. Whether Villain should have 3-bet a set is subjective. If you had actually raised the river and gotten yourself 3-bet by a set, you would have paid off 6 BB postflop with unimproved aces. That's more than any "normal" line of play could be expected to yield. Many players do use this donking technique to disguise monsters and against the right victim it can be successful. |
