It is a matter of preference. The 5/10 6-max games, have a reputation for attracting action junky type fish. The games can be very good.

Also you can get more hands in per hour (if you can handle the same amount of tables that you normally play, for many this is not the case.).

However that said, the reported winrates from the two games seem very comparable as far as BB/100.

Also the 5/10 full game on party has a undeserved reputation as a rock garden. So many prefer the 6-max game.

After you've played at 5/10 for a while, come back and tell us what you think. There's a lot more to the texture of a game than looseness.

Over the last year and a half, I've worked my way from $.50/1 to [part time at] $30/60 and IMO the biggest jump, skill-wise, was from 3/6 to 5/10. The games at 5/10 were looser than 3/6 (and 10/20 was looser still) but the increased skill and aggression made the games a lot harder to beat.

5/10 10-handed is very tight on Party, much more difficult than the (IMO exaggerated) 3/6 10-handed. At 5/10 the default player is some variation of tight-aggressive, which was not true in my 3/6 experience. I would assume that anyone claiming 3/6 10h is harder than 5/10 10h just hasn't played enough hands. FWIW, I think 3/6 has more in common with 2/4 than 5/10.

5/10 6-max is a MUCH better game than full. Many more weaker players, more hands per hour, and a bigger bottom line. 5/10 full is a great learning experience, but after 3/6 full I think the average player should attempt the jump to 6-max.

I played a lot of 5/10, a good 2 months every day. But my bankroll just wasn't big enough, and I switched back to 3/6 after using my bankroll for a trip to vegas. I never felt out gunned at 5/10. I frequenty felt very unlucky, and I couldn't figure out if it was just a run of bad luck, or people just playing looser. That having been said when I add another few thousand to my bankroll, I'll try 6 handed 5/10

Although there are plenty of good 5/10 full games I have yet to see an opponent at a 5/10 full table play 70%+ of their hands. You can regularly find opponents at the 5/10 short games like this.

Trying to compare VPIP numbers from short games and full games is ridiculous.

Although 70% does sound more impressive than saying 4 people see the flop on average.
