Try ebAY.
Also, while the straegy info is outdated, it helps get you thinking in other ways about poker, which is usually helpful. |

[ QUOTE ] Amarillo Slim in a world full of fat people is good. [/ QUOTE ] I absolutely loved Amarillo Slim in a World Full of Fat People... BUT if you're looking for good biographical POKER books, then I wouldn't really reccomend it. [/ QUOTE ] As soon as I saw this thread, this is the book I was going to recommend. I loved it too. Even though much of it focuses on Slim's proposition gambling rather than on poker, I think that any poker player looking for an autobiographical book would greatly enjoy it. |

btw, I have an interview with Aces and Kings authors Brad Reagan and Michael Kaplan now up at WickedChopsPoker.com - http://www.wickedchopspoker.com . If you've read Aces and Kings already you'll probably enjoy reading their thoughts on the players they've covered over the years ...if you havent read it, i recommend it...there's a review up as well.

I'm very surprised no one has mentioned this yet. BY FAR, the best book of this genre is Big Deal, by Anthony Holden.
Matt Matros' book is an excellent read as well, but Holden's is a real classic. |

Been meaning to give Holden's book a read...just looked it up to see if Amazon has it and funny enough, the book has a review from Salman Rushdie: “Vivid, engrossing, superb… the best description of world–class poker we've been given.”
I also just checked to see if the book Fast Company was still being published and available and it is...it's the book Kaplan refers to in the interview. I'll add both to my list of books to read...I've been preferring this kind of poker read over all the strategy books out there.. |
