i struggle to believe to outright win this tourney 60% of the time. what is it, heads up between you and your pet dog? only way you win a full table so often is that they are idiots or your a genius. i conclude you dont keep good records. Re: Worst play yet at home game!!
Well i play a couple times a week with about 6 players max at the table and almost all of them are beginners far worse then me. When playing with the same players over and over u learn a lot about there play and can easily have a great win rate over them! I never said i was playing against the best players in the world which is why i am reaching out to play with other "better" players in my area to sharpen my game. These people i play with all bet exactly the same as one another and also bet the same amount all the time with certain hands. They are not to knowledgeable about betting amounts/pot odds/ betting for value etc. Matter of fact they actually make fun of me for using these techniques. They always laugh out loud and mimic me when i count the pot and bets to see if its the correct move to call and say "bla bla bla counting yoru outs again". They laugh but always end up losing. Table full of Maniacs! A couple are starting to become very interested in the knowledge i am getting from this site so i thank you for the experience here!

Re: Worst play yet at home game!!
Here's some tips:
Stop counting pot size in front of them, do it in your head as play goes around. No need to key them into such simple advantages. Don't tell them about this site. Convince them to raise the stakes! Congratulate them on good plays when they hit the 2-outer, eventually they'll pay for your next car.... |

Re: Worst play yet at home game!!
This post conveys the image of a guy talking 500 mph and suddenly finding that he's winded. Hurts my eyes.
Stop worrying about image. You know how you get a feared image? Smart poker to where you crush people. Not maniac play. Your play, [not] brilliant, in my opinion. |

Re: Worst play yet at home game!!
What's not mature and real about my advice?? Everything I told you was 100% serious. You can't win with one chip and saying stuff like that means you need to look into poker strategy and not the WPT broadcasts. Also, you even said the people you're playing with are interested in learning so I was right about the fact that they (for as bad as they were) are getting a little better. Proving you can count outs etc, gets less intimidating the more other people play so you can't rely on players "fearing you" to win, especially if you ever plan on jumping out of your home game to hit the casinos or play online. So like I said, study and work on your game. That's mature, serious advice.
Good luck, Matt |

Re: Worst play yet at home game!!
Balla...
Your posts seem as if you're looking for validation more than advice. You seem to miss comments with substance (not my previous comment mind you... other than the ante up and get over it remark) and love the fluff. That is fine, but if you want to improve and be able to sit with people that aren't 100% clueless, read a book. Matt said it and it still seems you missed it. Until you begin to grasp the concepts and actually understand and are able to apply them, you won't understand peoples' responses to posts. Posts with substance generally require a little perspective that new players with minimal tabletime lack, and thus glance over them (the posts)without understanding them. It sounds like you've looked through a pokerbook. Take the time to read it (assuming it's one people recommend here)... play a little using the concepts... reread a few chapters... play some more... reread another book... play some more... read some chapters from both... see a pattern? rinse and repeat faith |
