You do realize that the only way you can fold the turn is if you are pretty sure he has a boat or quads? You have not only an overpair, but also the nut flush draw. You are so far ahead of AQ it's not funny, and he could be betting the turn with any number of hands since he likely puts you on a missed AK when you check the turn. Reading your post I thought you were about to check-raise the turn, then seeing you wrote fold I cried. I cried so hard. Check-raising the turn will tell you right away what you're up against. However, I think it would be optimal to bet out the turn and check/call the river, or you could play more aggressive and use a blocking bet on the river.

Default Somewhat similar hand

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 max, 4 handed) converter

Hero ($98.9)
SB ($110.9)
BB ($42.75)
UTG ($93.5)

Preflop: Hero is Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.5.
UTG raises to $3, Hero raises to $7.5, 2 folds, UTG calls $4.50.

Flop: ($16.50) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets $8.5, UTG calls $8.50.

Turn: ($33.50) 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets $16.5, UTG raises $77.50 (All-In), Hero folds.

Final Pot: $127.50

Read on this guy was weak at the time, but he seemed to be of the semi tight-passivish variety.

Why are you underbetting every street?

Check behind on the turn here for sure.

i thought his most likely hands were QQ and JJ, and i was hoping that maybe if i underbet a little he would peel one off.

Yeah, it happens to the best of us in the heat of the moment, especially when multitabling. That's why we post these types of hands - for reinforcement of the things we already know, and introduction to the things we don't. This is definitely a case of the former.

Mark, that is one hell of a tough fold, but nice. Yes you should have checked the turn, but you also would have called a pot size bet if he had led into you right?
