His fast play on the flop feels like you have him kicked, but takes some sac to raise that river.

Edit - didn't even realize this was 8-handed, MP2 doesn't just suck, he really, really blows.

I think preflop is donkish

Eh, I surely wouldn't call it standard, but I don't think its donkish either. These games are full of people that fold the flop when they miss and buttons that are obliging to get out of your way when you raise.

Five non-backdoor flush hands beat you: 88, 99, 98, A8, K8; and one ties. BB has to be pretty bad/loose to bet like this without an 8. I guess we're hoping he has 87?

[/ QUOTE ]
88 isn't possible. 99 probably raises preflop and I'd say normally wouldn't play this fast on the flop. A8 feels unlikely too due to flop action.

I'm not putting in the cap on the turn without a read. You've made it clear you have an 8, and he's made it clear he doesn't care.

Why he doesn't care is the issue.
I've seen a lot of people just calling LP raises with QQ-AA, so that's my guess (since you've suggested he's a moron), with a chance at 99 for the flopped boat.

You mean 4... 88 aren't an option as Hero has one.

Edit - the whole point is that we make reads oftentimes off of single hands and even single plays that are obviously incorrect. Here, MP2 is making a big mistake and unless he misclicked, u can assume isn't a very good poker player. Player reads are very flexible, but in general single hands can allow decent reads. I was reading a post by a vg mid/high poster where he open-limped in a higher stakes game in LP, but he had at least a reason for doing so, i don't think that MP2 is going to be thinking about his actions on any other level then, well i want to see a flop, but my hand isn't very good, so i don't want to raise.

One is sufficient in my mind, except maybe for this chance he misclicked.

They're also full of people who will call down with any pair. I'd say it's enough of a mix that you won't lose a lot by making this raise, but I don't know that it's necessarily +EV without a read. I can dig it with Q8s so I don't think it's a big deal with Q8o.
