What I think they should do, is have disconnect extentions.

As in, if you disconnect and fail to act in time, you'll get a long bonus period of time to reconnect, say 3 minutes. Long enough to get back to the table in many circumstances. If you dont get back in time your hand is folded.

Everyone would then get 1 of these, and only reset at the end of a week.

what if they got rid of the current disconnect "protection" scheme, but instead offered a paid service for those who want it where if your computer disconnects during a hand, you can call a phone number and authorize an agent to make a decision on the current hand for you....

Any site that offers "disconnect protections" at high limit is giving a free license to commit grand larceny. If you pulled that [censored] in Vegas you'd go to jail. I *guarantee* that 90% of the money that's saved/won from that BS comes from the cheating angle.

If my connection were so bad that I felt I was risking losing major hands, guess what, I'D QUIT PLAYING TIL IT WAS FIXED.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ Hero (6 max, 6 handed) converter

MP ($500.6)
CO ($1309.75)
Button ($394)
SB ($599.5)
Hero ($605.5)
UTG ($546.1)

Preflop: Hero is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $2.
2 folds, CO calls $4, Button raises to $12, SB (poster) calls $10, Hero calls $8, CO calls $8.

Flop: ($48) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $30, CO calls $30, Button folds, SB folds.

Turn: ($108) 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets $125, Hero is all-in $563.5

At which point CO disconnects. Wow. Just wow.

And had an ace not come on the river, he'd have won the hand with QTo.

What did they say when this happened to you?

I had a 3/6Nl hand a month ago where i made the nuts on the river and raised someone all in on the river who then disconnected and lost with top two, they would have certaintly called.

Party just said, theyve never done this before we will watch them in the future blah blah blah.

This is mostly wrong. In one case someone is willfully cheating. In the other case it's someone's own fault for not getting a better service/computer when bigger money is on the line.

i'm sorry this is wrong. i used to play a lot on InterPoker's high stake games, and not having disconnect-protection on that site absolutely SUCKS as they have a crappy server.

I like this idea, or if you disconnect you have a couple of minutes to call into the site and say call/fold rather then let them make the decision for you.
