terrible pre flop call. I fold that 101/100 times. [/ QUOTE ] Interesting read, check this out. Couple of things. Peters analysis is coming out of the 15/30 game, which features a 2/3 sb, so there is slightly more money in the pot on average when he defends, and note the other differences im sure he brings up. Also, peter is an excellent player, who has great post flop skills. He can skillfully defend his blind with hands such as these. That doesnt mean everyone should immediately start doing it. peace john nickle |

Re: Overprotecting my BB? ...\"value bet\" bottom pair?
cnfuzzd--
very very interesting thread you pointed me to above. I read it and ran some of the PT filters Peter talks about in that thread. While my sample of size of suited trash played from the BB is significantly smaller than his the results look promising. Here are the results of the filter--clearly I'm running well. Instead of losing my .5BB by folding the BB I'm actually picking up .35BB/hand. I'd expect this to come down a lot but even Peter's results of -.33BB/hand are very impressive. So maybe folding 101/100 times isn't the best? Even if the numbers drop to close to -.5BB/hand it still seems +EV in terms of helping you practice good postflop play and mixing up the stuff you show down--people often don't notice your position and can really get steaming when you take down a 15BB pot with J4s. |

Just a thought. Oh yeah, and in a game with a 1/2 sb im completing this nearly everytime with one limper, and at 3/6 im completing it with 2/3 limpers, depending on the table texture. peace john nickle |

Re: Overprotecting my BB? ...\"value bet\" bottom pair?
Given your sample size, i would say you are probably running well. However, i recently started trying to adopt peters techniques, and, anecdotally, things seem to be working out. Ive got around the same sample size that you do, so everything is inconclusive. But peter is one smart russian....

never call that hand pf, and NEVER against a raise [/ QUOTE ] This is way way way worse than anything hero did in this hand. |

[/ QUOTE ] I have that thread of peter's bookmarked as one of my favourite 2+2 threads. I consider it required reading. Since I bumped this for you try not to sit at my tables. Thanks. By the way, I bet the river again, but think it's close either way. |
