Need more info.

However, if he's the type to do this with 55-AA, then I call w/ QQ and most likely drop AKs. Not a big pot to flip a coin w/ AKs. With QQ, I'm most likely ahead.

no no no no no. QQ is horrible here. against an unknown opponent, you have to fold.

Well, since the OP is asking which hand would you be more likely to call with, I assume you're picking AKs then?

Please explain how that's more profitable compared to QQ against an unknown.

It really depends on the range of hands you put villain on.

If you put villain on just AA-QQ or AK, then there isn't much to choose from between QQ and AKs (though AKs has a slight edge.

If villain holds only AA-KK or AA-QQ, then AKs is the better holding.

If villain only does this with AA, you are better off with QQ.

If villains holdings are wider than the first case (e.g. include JJ-TT, maybe AQs), then QQ is best.

Note: just because one hand is better than the other, doesn't mean you should call. In most of the above cases, folding both hands is the clearly optimal play.

I'm not folding either of these hands at NL25 on party. Don't think these players are really good guys. You will get shown 66 just as many times as AA or KK here.

Wow Queens is even weaker than I thought.....

If any of those are your ranges how could you even consider calling?

So why would the relative performance of AKs and QQ be relevant?

You would simply insta muck and play the next hand/.

The only range that has you realistically considering a call had QQ as the far superior holding. + AKo (3/4ths of the time it will be off so lets be real) is not close to a flip against QQ...something like 16.5% underdog.

QQ is a better hand than AKs to push or to call......if you think different you are fundamentally misunderstanding the relative strenghts of holdem poker hands.

I consider AKs to be equivalent to about JJ in ringames certainly still weaker than QQ.

or he could come to a poker forum and ask for poker advice from assholes like you. couldn't you at least give him some advice?

You might have a point if he was a member for less than a month ....had less than a dozen posts...

Of course then I would never have flamed him.

At 5 months with a decent amount of posting this isnt a reasonable ? in my book.

Perhaps I was a bit rough.

The sorriest thing is there are people on here giving absolutely incorrect onfo...e.g. AKs is a better calling hand here if it should be called.
