Well, both hands are crushed by AA, and AKs has a chance against KK and QQ. Obviously, QQ is tied with the other QQ, and is crushed by AA and KK. This doesn't look like JJ or weaker, so I guess AKs is a better call. Don't minreraise this preflop though.
Edit: I know QQ seems like the obvious choice at first, since it does better against a random hand, but look at the action, and think about what he could be holding. Don't just blindly choose QQ because it's a stronger hand preflop--look at what you're up against. |

Alright, so maybe it isn't the best of questions, but your answer isn't any better than the original question. Your suggested book, Hellmuth's, constantly talks about "Top Ten Hands", and yes, I had one. However, if MP3 is going to raise 8X the size of the pot, the odds that he probably has one of these "Top Ten Hands" as well have to be good.
Would I be justified in calling with AKs or QQ, with the possiblity that he is betting with TT-JJ, or AQ? I don't know. I am pretty new to NL, so I can't really relate when I have learned from limit in this perticular situation. |

Fold both hands without a read on Villian.

Need more info.
However, if he's the type to do this with 55-AA, then I call w/ QQ and most likely drop AKs. Not a big pot to flip a coin w/ AKs. With QQ, I'm most likely ahead. |

[ QUOTE ] Need more info. [/ QUOTE ] you dont always have more info. [/ QUOTE ] Well, something like knowing if this is a maniac player or tightish player will certainly help make a better decision. However, since the OP was probably asking a general question, I threw out calling w/ QQ a better choice than AKs for me. Again, I'm not being nit-picky or anything, it's just that in NL poker, more info is more important than in LHE, IMO, because limit is more mechanical whereas NL is more in-depth thinking. |
