Default Re: Banned from Borgata -- Do Trop or Taj offer poker rates?

Who cares if he is banned or not. If they treated me like that I would not be returning to give the Borgata my money, even if they did not ban me. There are many alternatives in AC, The showboat will be opening a huge room soon. I don't understand why people play at the Borgata when you have to wait so long to play. If I want to play 1/2 NL at 5PM saturday. I want to be seated within a half hour. Anything longer and I will move to the next cardroom. I don't like the Borgata's labor policies either and how they treat the waitresess like cattle.

I can't believe anyone thinks b000000000m was out of line.

[/ QUOTE ]

Well since we weren't there we have no way of knowing what exactly happened. I think we'd need to hear both sides of the story. Maybe b000000000m was abusive. Maybe he cursed out the staff when he didn't immediately get a free room in response to his complaint. Maybe he started out with a pissed-off "I ain't payin'" attitude before the staff could even try to assist him. They don't ban you from a hotel for life just for complaining about a noisy room.

Again, did they inform him about the construction when he checked in? When I stayed there they were informing me and everyone else at checkin that there would be construction noise in the morning. I could've chosen at that moment not to stay there if I wanted.

Of course he should spend his money where he feels his business is appreciated. There's other games in town besides the Borg, and I'm sure both he and the Borg will get along fine. I've always been treated great by the staff there so I have no complaints and look forward to visiting the Borgata again.

I don't disagree that his room should be free
but the results of this feud make me suspect he was rude

we'll never know the true cause of this row
how his principled stand ended up with him banned

I have a feeling that a well written letter to the Borg explaining things could clear this right up.

As much as everybody is saying (WRONGLY) that "it isn't worth it over $39" it's far less worth it for the Borg. Customer Service 101 says that that he should have been moved, comped the room, and probably thrown in some more free stuff.

As somebody who works in customer service, there is nothing that bothers me more than seeing situations like this dealt with incorrectly- and if I was in that situation, I probably wouldn't be back.

Based on what other people have said, it seems like one of the people involved in this exchange was a dick, but we have no way of knowing it was the OP.

Borgata does not treat their waitresses like cattle. If they were cattle they'd do anything they could to fatten them up, rather than trying to prevent them from fattening up.

Default Taj poker rates, too.

Yes, both the Taj and Trop have poker rates. Prior play is required at both, I think.

Whether or not you patronize the Borg is your business only. I haven't stepped foot in the place for nearly a year due to a bad experience. And I have no intention of going back.

If so, what are the play requirements / rates / procedures necessary to secure the poker rate?

And do they have loud construction going on in adjoining rooms from 7:00-9:00am, and then refuse to apologize or move you to another room, or comp you the $39 for the inconvenience, only to ban you from the property when you say you refuse to pay the $39 and will be disputing the charge with your credit card company? [/ QUOTE ]

The time they moved my room due to construction, they comped most of my trip.

Banned from Borgata

Sucks for you....
Im guessing you were told about it when checking in, everyone is
I think you over reacted on purpous as it was not that loud and I was on the 14th floor
My guess is you pushed your agenda, trying for something free and they called
I also doubt they were rude to you first, as the front desk has always been out-of-the-way nice to me.

All that being said, I think you did cut off your own nose, as that poker rate cant be beat, tho now I guess you can go get a crappy nights sleep on route 30 for 10 bucks more
....All the above is MHO and I could be way off base.
