Default Special stipulations for Tom

You see Photoc, Tom "dund fergot" this rule...

"Cardrooms generally don't provide towels for crying in, thus you must bring your own."

There are new dealers everywhere in the country, Vegas included, the aladdin included, and lumping everyone into one group based on one incident with one dealer is clearly assinine. Chit will occasionally happen, and it will be gotten over. However, if you intentionally push the envelope and shoot angles (tommy-boy style), you are the one making things go badly, not the dealer.

Too bad it wasn't you or I at the table when ol' tommy boy tried to shoot his angle. I guarantee you I would not have stood for it, and I know you wouldn't either.

[ QUOTE ]
I'm going to Vegas this weekend with a friend, and I noticed that Aladdin spreads 1-2, 2-5, and 5-10 NL on weekends. I haven't seen any other Vegas casinos that regularly spread 5-10 NL, so I was thinking about playing in the 5-10 NL game, and I was wondering if anyone has any experience playing in this game. What should I expect on a typical weekend night? Is the competition that much better than a typical 1-2 or 2-5 NL lineup? What size stack do people usually sit down with in this game?

Thanks!
-Scott

Hero/girlfriend and I played a 2-5 restricted game Tuesday night at the Aladdin that turned into a 5-10 unrestricted game and as far as I could tell (we were drinking and getting drunker ) nobody chipped up. This room seemed to have a very nice atmosphere and we would have played more except for the fact it was not a poker trip. Famous player was also in the above game.

Actually, I played through 4 dealers. I found all to be among the bottom end of the spectrum. One was truly incompetent. The rest were terribly slow and sloppy.

Aaladdin is just fine -- games run from OK to REAL GOOD ---
some have had a bad experiance there -- BUT take it with a grain of salt--
Dealers are doing a good job---floor staff is just fine ---
Give it a look and see what you think -------

Good guess. He seemed to be kicking back and IMO played well (to the extent I noticed, like I said above we were drinking ). Definitely seemed to be a regular, unassuming sort of guy, but that was my opinion based on everything I've heard before I played with him.

PS BTW, how did you guess? Does he have some sort of play deal at the Aladdin?

Wasn't a guess really. I was late getting to Bellagio on Wednesday and couldn't get into a game because of the tournament, so I went over to Alladin to look for a game. They only had a 1-2 blind NL game going. I asked about a 2-5 blind game and the floor said that it would get going as soon as Mr. Moneymaker came down to play.

Moneymaker has been staying at the hotel this week and when he plays, the lists are a mile long to get into the NL game. People playing 2/4 are putting their name on the list just so they can say they played with a world champion, ROFLMAO. Man, I do love tourists!

Wow, we must have been running good. We stopped by the room on our way out for cocktails and there were two seats open. So we had our cocktails at the table .
