Default Aladdin NL cash games

I'm going to Vegas this weekend with a friend, and I noticed that Aladdin spreads 1-2, 2-5, and 5-10 NL on weekends. I haven't seen any other Vegas casinos that regularly spread 5-10 NL, so I was thinking about playing in the 5-10 NL game, and I was wondering if anyone has any experience playing in this game. What should I expect on a typical weekend night? Is the competition that much better than a typical 1-2 or 2-5 NL lineup? What size stack do people usually sit down with in this game?

Thanks!
-Scott

I know nothing about those games, but I do know The Mirage spreads a 5/10NL.

I'd avoid that room like the plague. The 2/5 lineup was about the same as what you'd find outside of Freemont street at 3am on a Thursday, total baffoons. 1/2 had all the young Moneymaker wannabes.

If you can't beat either game, you should quit poker.

1/2 buyin was $100 max I believe. 2/5 had a $300 max (totally lame), and most people bought between 1-200. All-in preflop fun.

So which is it? Sounds like a room you DO NOT want to avoid?

It is a horribly run room. There are plenty of fish with deeper stacks at the Mirage. Play there.

Don't listen to tom. He had one problem there when he was shooting an angle, threw a hissy fit and left. His little 'worst floor decision ever' thread can be found....

Here.

Furthermore, two 2+2'ers work in the Aladdin poker room and are both very nice guys. One of them had this to say about tom's play:

You obviously know darn well that if someone re-raises a $40 bet by going all-in for $3 more, that you cannot reraise again. And when you take advantage of an obviously new and inexperienced dealer who doesn't know the rule, you are shooting an angle.

Link to that post in the thread is Here.

I'll let you decide if you think Tom is rating the aladdin objectively or not.

Explain how asking a question is shooting an angle.

The Mirage runs a much better room than the Alladin. It seemed like it was Joe-Bob's Card room. The dealers are obviously new and unexpirenced, as you said.

Ever been to those home games where you have to explain the rules to the people running the game? That's the Alladin Casino. The dealers do not control the games. The players do. It's that simple. If you don't mind these types of things, then play there all you want and bust the short-stack specialists who lose $100 at a time.

Hey Tom, when you get your facts straight on the Aladdin, please come back and reply. Otherwise, shut your trap. You had an experience with 1, yes 1 dealer that you are all bent out of shape, so now you lump all the "DEALERS" into the same category. That is completely unfair to the rest of the people that work there. Stop crying and get over it.

By the way...the below was explained in the original thread that you posted. No need to reiterate the explanation.

I love this room, my fav just behind the mirage. I've stayed there twice in the last 4 months and loved playin there. The drink service is the best by far. The players are soooo bad its awesome. Go there now.

i thought the aladdin sucked too, the dealers were OUTRAGEOUSLY slow, the floormen seemed confused and there were only like 3 tables going when i was there: a 2-4 limit, a 1-2 nl and a 2-5 nl i think...i played the 1-2 nl but it was going really really slow so i moved to the limit game for some gambooling and it was a little more fun.
