I'm not sure how much weaker ATo is than AJo(Shillx did some calculations about it, it might have been BB, but it suggested raising is better) but I'd be inclined to think that your equity still is good enough to raise preflop, its 4limpers who likely don't have much, you are certainly raising ATs here, ATo is closer but I still think its a raise

When its close like this, Don't raise:
By not raising you make the pot smaller and the small -EV that occours here (by not raising) will be offset by loose-passive players who chase hands without thinking about pot size. If you raise here, the pot size might justify their automatic calls on draws. let your superior post-flop play here make the money and don't worry about a slightly -EV pre-flop play like this. Edit: Personally i don't think this is one of those "close" decisions... but something like AJ is. |
