Thanks CCx,
I'll let you know when I get to going down there. I want to improve my skills some more with some more online play first. I'm beating the Party .5/1 game to the tune of several BB/100, but only for the last five weeks (10k hands). I started at Party a month before that and lost about 2BB/100 in my first 8k hands. I originally started playing .25/.5 and .5/1 Pacific and made about 2BB/100 over 10k hands. How would that translate to the skill required to win at Borgata's smallest game? Ought I wait until I'm comfortable at 1/2 or 2/4 Party? -TomBk |

[/ QUOTE ] Honestly, you should be JUST fine at either the 2/4 or 3/6 level. I havent played either in close to a year but have a few friends and a fiancee who do, and from what they tell me and what I've observed it hasn't changed a bit. Both games play almost identical to the low limit Party games, probably much worse at times |

party 2/4 is like borg 6/12; the 2/4 and 3/6 are easier than that, but i haven't played any lower than that on party so i can't give you anything more accurate than that. i would highly doubt that a semi-prolific poster who beats party .5/1 "to the tune of several BB/100" can't beat the 2/4 there.
also, not that it will really matter at 2/4, but in general, the table change list is your friend. edit: if you see a bunch of people at a 2/4 table who are each sitting with >$1k, get on their table, and don't identify yourself as a 2+2'er - there's lots of $ to be made. |

[/ QUOTE ] If someone had mentioned 2+2 at that point I likely would've arranged some sort of wagering to see who could solve it first. |

so tell me everything [/ QUOTE ] 1) the only part that sucks is leaving 2) after a couple of hours on a table, you're still a newbie so dont jump over to the 10-20 game, put on a pair of sunglasses and start rolling chips across your knuckles. Wait four hours and then do it. 3) One or more of the waitresses may be cute. It's ok to tell them you think they're pretty. It's not ok to follow them around the casino yelling "c'mon...20 bucks if you'll flash those for me." 4) The dealer will know you're new and will be a greater help. Or, he'll insult you, accuse you of all kinds of crimes, like string betting, and encourage other players to raise your bets. Dont pay any attention to it. The dealer's job is sometimes boring and they pick on newbs for sport. 5) Dont slow roll your winners. Unless it is Phil Helmuth on the losing end, in which case slow roll and then do the chicken dance on the table. 6) Bring a rabid wolverine with you in a burlap sack. If you see Helmuth, drop the mad animal on his head and run for the doors. Casino security loves jokes like that. Enjoy yourself. |

A couple questions after playing my first time at a B+M:
1. When you want to get up to go on a break, is there anything wrong with waiting until right before you get hit by the blinds? They place the "missed blind" button on you, so it isn't like you are going get away without paying it. 2. I had to get back to NY and had to leave by 3:00. On my last hand I get pocket Kings and take a nice pot. I had to go ... no choice ... the dealer says, "hit and run" as I'm leaving ... I thought that was bad form. Did I do something wrong? Enjoyed my first time in B+M ... won $205 at a 2/4 table in 12.5 hours of play. Played at the Taj and it was very loose, but that worked to my favor. |

1. That's exactly when to take a break. Everyone does it. No bad in it at all.
2. Some dealers think they're being cute or clever by making a remark. Don't think anything of it. Just smile and say good bye politely. Why let something so insignificant spoil the afterglow of winning your last hand? |

I play mostly at Pacific, but I typically play Omaha and Stud online. I like Hold 'em, but the local home game I play in is 2/4 SHOE rotation. I've had to work hard on my Stud Hi/Lo, Razz, Omaha/8, Omaha Hi, as well as Hold 'em so I don't get my ass handed to me. The guys I play with locally are as good as I played in the 2/4 at the Taj. I would say the quality was a little better at the Taj than on Pacific, but that isn't saying much ... Pacific is typically ranked as the loosest of the online sites. I just played my tight/aggressive game.
